The Dealer

So i have had my car for a while now a few years and occasionally it did that 2nd gear rind ,, i didn't pay to much attention to it since i didn't drive it so much and it was very sporadic ,, I drive my car everyday now as I drive for a Lyft . Then reading posts about a bunch of people having this same problem. SO i needed to go to the dealer anyway ( engine light ) and i told him about the 2nd gear issue .. HE then looks at me an d says that i need to give him permission to look at the transmission.
So now i have to either tell them to break my tranny apart or deal with it.
I guess I'm just venting since i thought it was odd that even though it's under warranty i cant get this fixed or even looked at without my car being out of commission for who knows how long.
