Yep! It will have DSVM (Driver Selectable Vehicle Modes) AKA Slect A Tune. One side will be the ECO mode which is going to be essentially like stock power but optimized to squeeze MPG out of it. It's for the fuel misers ;)

The other side is the power side. Raw. It will be actuated by the Cruise Control button. For those without CC on the 1.8L, the engineers are working on an offering for to still have a way to switch between the two.

This same model will be applied to the 1.4T as well. There will be an ECO sie, and then a raw power side :)

So will the default setting be the ECO mode or Power mode? And will the setting remain, even after turning off the car? Or will I have to change the setting each time I get into the car?

The setting is based on the Cruise Control On/Off state. CC Off = Tour and CC On = ECO/Stock

On my Regal GS the On/Off is software based and resets every time I get in the car. I don't recall if the CC button on the Sonic is a switch you click on and off like in the old Cobalt or if the button simply turns on the software On/Off, in which case it would reset every time you shut the car down.

Honestly good to see this came back. But it should still be offered the other way.

CC Off = ECO/Stock and CC On = Tour.

A few good reasons why...
- Loan your car out and the only reason someone else would turn on the cruise is to actually use it. Unlikely a guest would end up abusing the new found power.
- Same for the dealer.
- Ends up helping when you are actually using the cruise. Example... Extra power helps keep the trans from bumping down a gear or two when climbing a grade loaded with passengers and luggage.


When I was using it I had you guys reverse mine as I have it listed above and it worked out perfectly. Anyone that ever drove my car never knew it was there. Same for getting oil changes or other service at the dealer. It never raised an eyebrow.

On day to day use I could stealthily press the cruise button for power to pass (treat it like a nitrous button) and back off without the wife knowing what was going on.

Think about this option. It's better than you think.

I agree completely with Rodslinger. I would rather the default setting be Economy mode. I use my car almost every day for my work commute. So I am more concerned with getting good mileage. It would be a pain to have to press the cruise control button every time I get into the car. It's annoying enough having to turn of the traction control every day.

Also, like was stated earlier by Rodslinger.. If I lend my car to someone, or take my car to the dealer, I would rather they not abuse the my car, which might happen if they notice how much power it has. Only I should be able to have access to that extra Trifecta power, and whomever else I trust to share the secret with.

You may not get a lot of requests as most people may not have even considered it an option or thought of the benefits of having it reversed.

Toss up a poll on here, the Cruze forums and maybe the CTS boards to get some customer feedback. I'm gambling that 65% or more would take the switched setup.

Yes, I believe most people would prefer the default setting be Economy, with the option to turn on the power when needed.

Also, would it be possible to configure it so that when we turn on/off the Power mode, there can be a notification chime? Kind of like the chime we here when we reset the odometer?

I have had this updated tune since it came out.

The fun factor of driving this car went way up, it does'nt fall on it's face when
going through the gears anymore. (auto)

The g/f did'nt understand why I was spending time hooking up the computer
and changing things doing the update. But after driving it, she too, was impressed !!

Trifecta, you guys Rock!!

Oh yeah, I always use power mode, even when driving for mileage. Would only use cc on very flat terrain.

Forgot to mention that Manual Mode is back on the 1.8 (auto) updated tune.

Surprised no one else has mentioned this, even Trifecta.

LOVE it!!!!!!

Looking forward to the 1.4 update, although I love the tune in my Bumblebee now!!
