Hey everyone,
My trans is finally being fixed at the dealer. 2nd gear began grinding way back from hard shifting and then went out randomly months later, then 3rd started to grind. Finally saved enough cash to bring it into the dealer.
After a few days of working on it and a few other issues with the car, the service guy said the tech had to replace and reprogram the transmission control module, and that the car should be shifting fine, and will check it out again tomorrow to see how it shifts.
I'd like to believe that the dealer is reputable and honest, but I've never heard of a TCU/TCM on a manual trans car... especially one which would cause gears to start grinding and completely go out Anyone have any info about this before I pick it up at the dealer? (have around 60k miles, with 100k powertrain warranty)
