Changing Spark plugs

Anyone know how to remove the plastic piece covering the wire harness attached to the coil boot it doesn't seem to wanna come out 1.8

I was wondering the Same thing, I can't seem to Pull that Plastic off.

I tried dozens of times, dozens of ways... Still broke it off. You can try turning the engine on for a minute and then trying.. But be prepared to go to the junkyard or try to warranty it somehow

I wasn't able to get it off either but i just tried with my hands one day when I was checking everything for wear and tear. I wish I could find a sonic at a local junk yard they're very rare in junkyards still in my area. I would have replaced my ls doors with some lt+ doors for some power window action haha and probably the wheels.

I know this is probably too late, but hopefully it helps someone else. I figured it out how to take the cover off without breaking it. I pushed from the left side and you need to move it a good few inches and then it will come off. The hard part is lining it up when you put it back on.

Ha, I grew up in Kirkland, in the Finn Hill area, I'm around that area all the time, maybe we'll see each other driving around!

The key is to grab the plastic piece with both hands and keep pulling straight up (assuming you took out all mounting screws). I did this about a year ago to check the gap on my plugs and removed the coil holder without any incident.

Perhaps doing this while the engine is warm makes the removal a bit easier.

when you put it back on use lots of dielectric grease on the rubber spark plug boots.
