blacked out my chevy bowties with vinyl wrap. not sure how i feel about it yet , thought i would love it alot more than i do . ive been waiting to black them out since nov . i guess i'll leave it for a week or so to see if it grows on me.

Got the windows tinted today, 5% in the back, 20% up front. Also, planning out the next few projects as well!

This was the little bit I needed to give me a bit of a push and pride in the car again! :banana:

Oops!

Saturday was a beautiful day so I opened the sun roof on my 2014 Chevy Sonic LT. I forgot to close it when I got home. Sunday it rained lightly most of the day. Monday morning I discovered my Oops when I got in and had a wet seat. So today I took everything out of my car, cleaned it out, and tried to sop up the water. But the carpet (NOT the mats) is soaking wet. I may have to buy new carpet for the front and back seats. Does anyone know if it's easy to rip out the old and lay new down? I really can't afford to pay the dealer to do it, and since it was my fault, it wouldn't be covered under warranty. I got the carpeted mats dried out in the sun today and I think they'll be OK, but I don't want my whole car smelling from the wet carpets.

I can't believe I did that! :sadbanana:

I think the easiest way to find out it to go to a scrap yard and try to get a carpet out. That's how I learned alot about mechanics from my last car. Need a part (carpet/alternator) go to scrap yard take one apart and reverse to get back in.

Theres a guy on the forum that made his sonic into a rally car and totally gutted it. Maybe he would know if you search and PM him

I would vote for renting a carpet cleaning machine and give the interior a through cleaning.

Before replacing the carpet I would first try extracting as much water as possible, a strong shop vac will do. Afterward find a bunch of old socks and fill them with cat litter. Keep the windows up fir a few days and the litter will absorb the excess moisture. Might be a good low buck option to try first

I lined up the upper hole to the upper screw but had to drill a hole in the wheel well cover for the lower hole. These are for an RS so I assume the upper hole is higher on an RS.

Plastidipped my emblems black, relocated my front license plate, then threw on some universal basic rally armour mudflaps. Not bad for 26 bucks.

Finally got some nice enough weather to plastidip my rims. Forgot to get a finished photo but once they are on the car I will get one.
