Chevy refuses to update mylink

Sorry to bring this back to life, but I didn't want to start a new thread for the same thing.

I recently went in for the key-in reminder chime recall and mentioned I'd also like to have MyLink updated so I could use the Siri Eyes Free and BringGo Navigation with my car. They absolutely had no idea what I was talking about. I even mentioned the PI-0914 document and a guy pulled it up. It didn't get done. They said no updates showed for my VIN.

When I enter my VIN, I see all kinds of items or "part numbers" that can be programmed into the A11 radio controller

I went to chevy.com and used the chat feature to explain my situation. I might as well have been from Jupiter.

I called the Infotainment group to explain my situation. I even had them follow me to the spot on chevy's website that said it is a "simple upgrade at the dealer". He saw that and understood my frustration, but had no idea what I was talking about.

I have pretty much given up having these features.

Has anyone recently been successful?

I'm at the dealership right now, actually. I'll ask them to see if they know anything about this.

I read through this thread and talked to my service guy. The thread is from a few years ago so unless your sonic is older you should already have this update. Do you have an iPhone to test the Siri integration? You would hold down the talk button on your steering wheel and it Siri would work as long as your phone is connected through Bluetooth.
When I get my sonic back I'll play around with it but I know the Siri works for me. I'm interested to try the BringGo navigation and I know my sonic already has the Tune-In.

It is a 2013 Sonic. It does not currently have the update.

If your service guy even knows about the update, that'd be an improvement. I'm close to Farmington Hills too. I'd go there if the service guy was knowledgeable about this upgrade.

I go to the Serra Chevrolet on Telegraph and 12 mile. They're always the most helpful for me. Check them out, maybe they'll upgrade your mylink and everything will be there. Do you have a picture of the apps your "smartphone link" menu has?

I have no picture, but the apps are Stitcher and Pandora.

So, never upgraded. The first upgrade added BringGo and Tune-In to the original two.

As a senior member of Chevy Customer Care, please reach out to any and/or all dealership(s) in Michgan. There has to be one that can perform a "simple no-charge radio update", especially using the instructions PI-0914.

Part 1 - SPS programming with the latest calibrations available on TIS2Web.
Part 2 - USB programming
Part 3 - Customer enjoys full MyLink experience offered in his vehicle

I hope they will update for you. I tried to get the update after my 3/36 ran out and was a no go.
I did try during the time my 3/36 was still in effect but most of the dealers were not sure of what was needed to do that at the time/or it was a time issue of them telling me that it would be an in and out sort of thing then coming back and telling me it would take several hours.
This was in the spring of 2013 by the way. Car bought 2012 in fall.
Then the MyLink radio I had quit working all together.
I think the early MyLink for the Sonic was a major fail. Promised great things, and like a fart in the breeze, just gone.
Replaced with a Pioneer NEX unit and added Android auto to mine. Worth every penny.
The android auto and Google maps makes it so much nicer than Bringo/Wrongo could ever be.
Kickers and a sub followed but the sound is much more to my liking.
Tried to get an upgrade at two Mid Michigan Dealers for the radio. No luck at either.
Doesn't matter now though as the outcome is superb.

Which NEX did you get? I'm considering this myself. Also, HB or Sedan? I'm thinking about throwing my dual Pioneer 12"s in but I'm unsure with how to go hooking them to a speaker

I did a NEX 4100. Also did the kickers in the front doors. Did a Pioneer 12 inch in an old sub box with a Boss mono amp.
Had to turn the sub way down because crazy loud at first but got it all leveled out now.
Put the 12 inch into an old Optimus Sw12 pro box from my way old home audio.
Sounds tight.

I just bought my 2016 Sonic. Almost every time i drive it i have to reconnect my phone. Shouldnt it connect automatically? Do i need an update?
