It could. Is it likely? I don't know that it's LIKELY, but if it happens and the dealer warned you, they won't warranty it.
The other option is just get moog replacements. I believe people have had more success with the moog links holding up.
Zzp makes steel end links too. $20 a piece

Yes. The plastic end links are plastic. Known to be weak and break.
My 2012 Sonic has gone through a few replacements of the front end links (both sides included) due to clunking noise and it looks like the noise is coming back (once again).
My question was as to whether there is any truth to what I was told by the dealer that if you don't replace them when they are noisy it puts additional strain on the suspension and it will cause other parts to break?
If the end link was bad enough or broken right off it may adversely effect body roll, but otherwise it will no wear any part of the car at all.
