I did it in place. After about 6 months installed the corners are starting to come up but it's held up well. Wastes a sheet the entire size of the grille to do properly but it's not that bad.

The carbon doesn't flex as well as the gloss, but it shaped nicely in the grille

That is indeed a very good question. I got too close with the power washer and peeled some of the fake chrome off. It looked terrible so I took it off and replaced it with vinyl.

Installed my Ultra Gauge today!! Ran the cable through the vent under my dual gauge pod. I had to take out the side to side (vertical) vent adjustments and then the gauge would fit through horizontal slots.. Attached with hook and loop Velcro.
