The 1.4 turbo sonic has an allen head oil drain bolt but the threads on the plug are smaller.

Replaced the outlet that the upper coolant hose connects too. Noticed a leak at the hose clamp and found out the outlet was cracked where the hose clamps on. $37 part from a dealer, $18+ online or auto part supply stores.

I drove from Winnipeg to Vancouver. Everytime I filled up I got wicked better mileage. Which makes sense. But I'm still amazed.

Not my 2014. It's got the 1.4T and it came with a standard hex head oil plug from the factory.

Seems reasonable to me. When I drive like a grandma I can get 38-40mpg. Normal adult driving somewhere around 32-34mpg.
118km/h being approximately 73mph so yeah 33mpg is about what I get at that speed. Especially with the winter blend gas that Wisconsin has this time of year.

MPG 23, down from 34-35.
I'm guessing the K&N filter dirtied my MAF sensor with oil? Or the intake tube before the MAF is too short causing turbulence.
Sometimes the car really goes and the very next launch it will take minuets to get up to 25.
I bought on a whim.
Eeek went down to 14. Started to raise slowly to 16.
Gotta find a coupler and go back to stock. Unacceptable!
Was at 8 MPG, I could smell a lot of unburnt fuel.
Turned the car off for a bit, then went for another drive.
Went from 14-16 up to 19 mpg. So maybe I'll hold off from reverting back to stock just yet.
Still a lot of gurgling and hiss noises. Every now and then a swish.
Bought a DR. Pepper to make me feel better.
I just dont want to kill my poor car. Melt the cat from overly rich or build up too much carbon from bad combustion. Lots of negatives running through my mind.
EDIT: reverted to stock, but still getting bad fumes/running especially at idle. Gets around 28 freeway.
I hope it improves more. I gotta drive from TX to Baton Rouge.
This is what happens when I have the day off work.
UPDATE:
I cleaned the MAF with CRC. Epoxied the Airbox together. Tomorrow I will take a look at the plugs and possibly consider checking the 02 sensor if that is even a thing I can do?
Been driving in Gmode and still barely into the 30mpg range.
Update 2:
Milage is better after cleaning MAF with crc. Getting around 34 where I was before. Still more sluggish off idle and rough at idle.
My filter got repurposed.

Finished installing the turbo stage kit . First impression is good , car feels more powerful, exhaust has a really nice tone , and there is no drone at highway speeds. I would recommend this exhaust to anyone. I would also recommend that anyone with a rs hatchback change their exhaust. I drove the car for a couple days with just the exhaust and found the car much easier and more fun to drive , shifting became much easier and smoother especially downshifting (rev matching). I would love to add the gm intake with ecm reflash but unfortunately is not offered for the 2016 model year .

Today I hung out at the chevy dealership. My car decided to be a Cristina's tree and turned on a cel. After a scanning the car a p1101 code came up. Also it seems as though a sucking noise has developed near the crankcase. I have the sneaking suspicion a pcv valve may be in my future. Luckily I still have warranty until April. Im hoping the part will be covered

My friend added me to a whatsapp group. I met a person in this group, he was looking for to buy a second hand car. He wasn't know anything about the Sonic. Sonic is very unkown vehicle in my country, it's not available since 2013 also. Only few cars available as second hand. I told him everything about the Sonic and,

So did really do this today actually I did it a couple weeks ago I just finally got around to taking a few pictures of it. I was wandering aimlessly around Walmart doing my weekly grocery shopping when I happened upon the magic mount unpackaged it looks a lil like this
I had been looking for an inconspicuous way to mount my phone in my car so I can use Waze on my way to work. It comes with a small magnet that you stick to your phone and the mount has an adhesive backing that you can mount it wherever you want. I decided the best place to put it was in one of the little cubbies next to the mylink that way I can see it while driving without having to take my eyes too far off the road
And here it is with my Waze on the screen
As you can see it is mostly in view while riding down the road and I barely have to move my head to see my full screen if need be.
I also happened upon some led interior lights while I was there so I picked them up and installed them at the same time
They aren't a whole hell of a lot brighter but I think the icy blue light looks cleaner and more refined similar to interior lights on newer high end luxury cars.
Now I just need the rest of my exterior led lights to show up in the mail :/
