Porting the Intake Manifold

No tease... members spoke they wouldn't pay for what it cost. Look at ANY aftermarket sheet metal manifold, our price of $500-600 is on the LOW end. I have no idea how some say it is to high; high compared to what?!?

We are not going to invest 100's of hours into a product no one will buy...

So it again isn't a tease from us, it is members on the site that determine the availability.

If you get around to developing one, I'd be interested in testing for you. I see the LNF's make around + 10whp / 20wtq with just the intake on a larger turbo. Maybe less gains for us, but a PCV valve + about 15wtq isn't bad.

We would need at least 10 members committed to a 1.4L manifold, willing to put $250 down up front to get this going. Knowing the final price will be between $500-650.

With the lack of member commitment, without this, we can't make it happen.

Never say tough... we still ship daily cavalier Performance parts, a car not made for over 10 years... that platform has deep performance roots. if there is real desire for one, it will show, GM still sells the sonic today.

Not technically... the true quad 4 was the 2.3L... A few variations of it also... one version they made a HO (W41) version normally aspirated at about 200 hp in the early 1990's. The 2.4L was the replacement motor to this 150HP stock.

Not sure why members are asking other companies? No other company will make a full aluminum manifold for any less than $500... price is the main reason why this never happen almost 4 years ago.

I really do apologize for asking another company to build an aluminum intake manifold. When you guys decided to not build it, I, ignorantly, though that it was because maybe you guys lost interest in building one for the Sonic. When you guys responded with the explanation as to why you didn't build it, it was then when I realized why you decided to not go through with building one. I know that you guys have the skills to build it, I wasn't underestimating you and I definitely did not mean to disrespect your company by asking another one.

Count me in for this, that's 3 so far. Stock manifold is 300$ and will only go up in price, plus with the orange poppet the manifold is something that will need to be replaced for maintenance on these cars. 500$ is not bad.

Just modifying the stock manifold to use a proper PCV valve takes a good 6-12 hours of work and lots of little parts that add up to around 100$

Speaking of intake manifolds

Found this cool thing
This is why high power cars have that tear drop shape
Otherwise it biases the rear because it has to fight its own flow

problem is you really can't change runner length and they should be even as possible
You have to do it all in the plenum
Not hard to model
Bit harder to make unless you have a cnc machine and a pice of billet

Why not look at the motorcycle community. Plenty of the street bikes have mass produced 1.4l 4cyl race engines with itb.
You can get those setups cheap. Have an adaptor plate made cheap to mate to the ngine and the TB.

I was actually looking at to see if it would be possible
Problem is I need something I can filter for street use while non boosted and then if and when I boost it I need to be able to somehow do that too
I was kinda thinking about looking into going that route
But problem
Most bikes I know of are carbureted and I refuse to go down in tech since our engines aren't direct injection correct? Or are they?
Might give jenvy a call and see what they say
