Double checking: Radiator hoses are not covered under powertrain warranty, right?

My 2013 1.4 Turbo just ruptured the coolant hose from the resevoir to the rest of the system. Am I correct in thinking that this part is NOT covered under the 5-year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty?

I'd say no. It's a small hose isn't it? Does it have any special end? Otherwise I'd take it off, go to an autoparts store and buy a section of tubing the same length. Boom fixed for under $10

Yeah, that's kind of my thought on it too.

Looks like I can get an oem part for about $20.

it's just rubber tubing, maybe with some threads internal to it to hold it together. You can get that at any parts store for far less than $20. (I'm assuming it's nothing but hose, no plastic parts attached)

When I swap out the hose, do I need to burp the system? Or can I just loosen the reservoir cap overnight to get any air bubbles out?

Most coolant that I see for sale is the green stuff. Can I use that or do I need to get specific coolant that matches the kind already being used?

I would just change the hose and try to spill as little as possible.. I would put a pan underneath so the coolant doesn't go all on the ground. If the reservoir tank maybe you could drain the tank into a container. I would just refill the reservoir (with new coolant mix), run the car and see if it goes down and more needs to added.

Our cars use Orange DexCool mixed 50% with water. They do sell 50/50 already mixed under the Prestone brand in Walmart. AC Delco brand I think the dealer sells.

Sorry to pester with more questions, but this should be the last one. When my car broke down, I had to do some side of the road repairs (patch the cooling hose that had split open). At the time the only coolant I was able to get my hands on was the green stuff (50/50 mix) and so added that in (about 1/3 of the container). Is that bad for the car? Should I flush the system when I install the new hose? Or can I just add back the DexCool and leave this stuff in there?

If I should flush it, should I do that right away or can I take a 5 hour (round trip) road trip this weekend before flushing it when I get back?

Just so everybody knows, the powertrain warranty ends past the coolant inlet/outlet housings on the engine.
The hoses, radiator, ect. are not covered.
Coverage for those ends when the 3yr/36K mi. bumper-to-bumper warranty expires.

Probs too late here but for someone's future reference. If you poured it in the reservoir, you can just drain that tank. It takes a while to mix in with the coolant in the system.
