Hey guys, I stumbled across these engine tuning videos the other day and found them really informative. Start with tuning 101 part 1, they cover fundamentals but that's good, there were a couple things that I was having trouble connecting the dots on and these helped. Plus, he uses HPTuners and he showed a few tricks I didn't know with that.
Boy, looking back on this tune I'm a little embarassed but it was a starting point. At any rate the link to the first of five videos is below, hopefully someone else will find them helpful!

I've only played around with HP Tuners but I'll take a look if you post it up. Although I have gained more knowledge since I first posted this I just want to make it perfectly clear I am not a tuner. Also to reiterate, there are better ways to tune than what's posted here.
You can disregard the ninth value 'Turbo Overspeed Airmass Limit Minimum', that is not doing what I believed it was when I first posted this.
Just be super careful with your new car!
Also, apparently HPT is missing a table or two for the 2017 1.4. You can play around all day long and still only make stock power it seems.
OK first real post here, bought a 17 Sonic 1.4T. Love it so far needed it for the work commute was putting too man miles on my 02 SS, and wasting gas!
I have been using EFI live for a long time now and have licensed the Sonic. I have crossed over as best I can all of 10 tables mentioned on page one. Here's my problem, under some acceleration in 5th or 6th gear between 1500 and 2500 RPM's the car bucks like a bronco, once I give it a little more throttle it down shifts and then doesn't do it above 2500. What am I missing? I played around with all the settings raising and lowering without any change. I can post my tune up if someone can look at it.
I've downloaded the software, of the two tune files you posted which one is the one you're using?
Either way I would set the 'Engine Operations -> Boost Control -> Maximum Boost Pressure' to the boost pressure you want in all the cells. In HP Tuners the ECT column is really not ECT but RPM (a wrongly labeled column that threw me off for a while) and it looks like the same thing may be the case with EFI Live.
After this change do your test drive gingerly to make sure you don't get any crazy boost issues.
Download efi live and take a look. The software is free. It won't let you make changes but you can at least see it.
EFILive - The Latest - Download EFILive
I have a BNR tune and everything appears to be set up properly but I can't view any of the tables, data logs etc. Are these files locked by the tuner or am I missing something here? I use EFILive and the autocal and I've tried everything or I think everything, to be able to view the tune.
