Hello all,
I’m a 23 year old that works on my own car (which I take pride in) but when it comes to electrics in cars I know just about as much as my makeup crazed younger sister knows about changing the oil [emoji23]. While I understand there’s a unit behind what you see when you look at the stereo, I’m confused on how to fit it in there, what tool to use to cut out a space if it needs it, which connectors mean what, and where to start with shopping for one for this specific car.
My sonic is a 2012 LT, I’ll attach a stock picture of the stereo setup. My main issue is the lack of Bluetooth capability (I’ve tried transmitters, it’s not the same) and volume capability. I realize that may be just a speaker issue and replacing those might fix it but I’d love to replace both at the same time.
That being said, my sonic is coming up on 200k miles so if it ends up costing me more than $200-$500 in parts alone I probably won’t do it, I’m just curious
Any input on this would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance! [emoji4]
