I'm pretty new to this forum and was trying to see if I could reach out and get some help, because I'm at a complete loss.
I have 1.8L 2015 sonic LT and my AC clutch is not engaging/activating when I turn my AC on. This is everything I've tried below:
Fuses/Relays Checked
Removed freon/charged with freon (Done by machine)
Passed Leak Test
High Pressure/Low Pressure Switch Checked
Bypassed the relays and the compressor engages, so I know it's working and blows cold air when on. (Yes, technically I have the AC working, but I don't want to hard wire under the hood the hood to turn my AC on/off.)
I noticed no outside temp was on my radio. Come to find out my ambient temp sensor on my grill was missing. Tried two different sensors and it shows up on my display -40 degrees.
I have not tried to drive the car or unplug the battery. I figured it would display the correct temp if working properly.
At this point still no AC and my outdoor temp reading is wrong. From my understanding, the compressor won't engage until this reading is at a certain temp.
I'm kind of at a loss of where to look next. I replaced the part I thought would fix the issue, but my display is saying it's still too cold out to run the compressor.
Any thoughts?
