Hello all, I'm David, a 38 year old Army Vet. No this is not a singles ad HAHAHAH.. any who..
So I own/ make payments on a 2015 chevy sonic ltz 1.4, that I bought when I was with my ex girlfriend a few years back. As you can imagine with my name it's a bright red color.
So far the only thing I've done after market to my car was LED headlights and changed the interior cab lights to LED to make it brighter.
Recently I've had a few mechanical mishaps that I was easily able to repair on my own. Back story is I was a mechanic for several years, but I got tired of the constant hurry from the customers and them trying to tell me how to do my job.
Over the course of the last few weeks I've put in more thought and consideration into modifying my car for myself. One thing I did was put performance pads and rotors on my car to make it quicker for stopping, but I'm also looking at doing a rear drum to disc conversion, plus changing the blow off valve on the turbo. Just last night I had the joy of replacing the valve cover gasket because the PCV valve went out on me, and as I said, former mechanic so it was pretty simple.
Over all I might do more of a ME kinda thing to the car, as I really do enjoy the gas mileage, but I hate that the tank is so small.
Oh also, I live in Fort Walton Beach Fl, and for what I can tell, I'm one of the few turbo LTZs in the area.
So I look forward to chatting with some of you guys and girls, and lending some of my knowledge in the auto repair industry as well.
Have a good day
