Hard charge tubes show some performance gains by way of smoother, less restrictive (higher velocity) air flow. Also they combat a small amount of psi lost from the stock rubber hoses expanding.
This item is just one piece of the charge tube puzzle though, so you may not see noticeable gains. The hard tubes for the rest of the system will more effective, however this one is the only visible one and therefore is the more satisfying one to replace as far as appearance is concerned.
If you are purely interested in performance gains, I'd suggest starting by replacing the other hoses with silicone or aluminum ones.

Is there eventually going to be the rest of the tubes made in the hard tube option? Like the u shaped one? Also is it worth buying the "full kit"? Is that just the big pipe am the two little ones at the bottem coming out of the cooler?

I just got around to installing my hard tube today. I haven't done anything with the other intake tubes yet. Other than this and a K&N panel filter, my entire intake is stock. My only other power mod is a Trifecta budget tune. Here are my findings.
I'm sure there's some placebo effect, but I feel a definite improvement in throttle response. The latent surge about a second after hitting the throttle that plagued the car before is virtually gone. I'm not sure if overall power is increased at all, but don't expect much in that area. This is a responsiveness and reliability mod, not a power mod.
The engine is slightly more audible due to the more solid connection between the throttle body and body-mounted MAP sensor assembly. For reference, I would describe NVH from a brand new TTR transmission mount as moderately intrusive and NVH from the hard charge tube is slightly audible.
Overall, this is a great product and well worth the current $75 price, IMO. Keep up the great work, DDM.
