2016 Chevrolet Sonic 1.4 126,000 miles (long post)
Due to oil leak the serpentine belt slipped off and shredded. Not knowing where the oil leak was exactly coming from I replaced anything to do with oil and gaskets plus some other parts that needed to be changed. Car ran fine before changing anything. No coolant mixed with oil anywhere.
Purchased and used correct timing tools
Changed timing cover gasket
Changed crank pulley seal
Resealed oil pan
Replaced both vvt solenoids
Replaced both cam sensors
Replaced intake manifold
Replaced mass airflow sensor
Replaced oil cooler/oil filter assembly
Changed spark plugs
Replaced waste gate actuator with upgraded part from ZZP
Added cold air intake
After replacing all the above listed parts the car would not stay running on first start. It almost sounded like it had an oversized cam and was loping. After maintaining about 3k rpm the car seemed to level out and run like normal. Then I checked the engine codes and even though it was showing a check engine light there were no codes, so I cleared the codes to turn off the light and the car died. It would not restart it just spudderd so I unplugged the mass airflow sensor and the car started, so I went and bought a new one. The car still did the same thing and wouldn’t start unless the MAF was unplugged. I disconnected the battery and tried to let the computer reset. The car still wouldn’t start unless the MAF was unplugged but now once it was started a code 84 appeared on the instrument cluster. Which from what I understand is limp mode. I kept trying different things and unplugging different sensors and re plugging them back in after I cleaned the throttle-body the car won’t start at all not even spudder it just spins over.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
