5 Speed convert to 6 Speed…?

I’m wondering if I take a 6 speed manual transmission from the 1.4L. Can I do a “plug-n-play” and swap it with my current 5 speed manual? Do the bellhousing bolts line up? Any modifications that need to be done?

I wouldn’t think so being it’s a manual. My main concern would be if the bellhousing bolts line up. The 6-speed is from the 1.4 and I want to put it on my 1.8.

Let alone getting a reflash so the 6spd manual transmission control module can properly talk to the Ecu and body control module, if you really want the 6spd manual trans you will need to replace everything from the newer 6spd 1.4L (Tcm,Ecu, Bcm) into the older 5spd 1.4L and reflash everything to the older 5spd chassis vin so the Bcm can function properly...everything is integrated via CAN network in the engine and dash electrical harness. Bolt pattern mainly lines up just one hole you need to redrill close to top of trans bell housing and oval out the hole and use a washer to fill the gap.
