Someone help PLZ! P0036? O2 sensor

I just recently bought my 14 Sonic sedan and I got this check engine code for the oxygen sensor for bank 1 sensor 2! I have 122,000 miles on it, I know this code and have seen it before on another vehicle and it ended up being the Cat.converter, is there any possibility it could be a oxygen sensor fuse? Is there even a O2 fuse because I can’t seem to find it and the O2 sensor looks like a pain to get to, to change it out! Any suggestions to what I could do to get the light off and what it may be?

I can assure you there is not a fuse for the oxygen sensor. It is hard to diagnose these cars without a real scan tool. I would take it to a dealer and let them tell you what your problem is.

Do you know if I have 1 cat or 2 on my sonic it’s 1.4 L turbo 2014? Do you think it could possibly be my problem? I felt the back exhaust and it not putting out very much exhaust air, I recently put some catyclean in it and it seem to run better but didn’t change the check engine light,

I am not sure, but I think these cars only have 1 cat. As I said before, take it to a shop and let them tell you what the problem is.

Do you know if the 2014 1.4 turbo sonic is a Direct Injection engine I been trying to figure out if it is, I was thinking about getting the CRC Intake valve & turbo cleaner

No, the Sonic only used the GM LUJ/LUV port injected engine. For some reason, GM only used the LE2 direct injected engine in some 2016 Buick Encore & 2016 Chevy Cruze vehicles in the US.

The 1.4L turbo engine in the Sonic is equipped with two catalytic convertors. It has a close coupled primary cat in the engine bay right below the turbo for cold start emissions, and a secondary cat below the car.

I’m getting a p0036 code for my down stream O2 sensor my car runs like it doesn’t have that much power one I get to 65 it runs fine, but yesterday on the highway the check engine light started to flash and the car hesitated for a second and the light with the car and the wavy lines under it came on but I slowed down and everything went back to normal with only the check engine light still on, I think I may need a new intake manifold because I discounted that top air line where your supposed to see the orange nipple but it was what looked like dried up oil in there making it difficult to see if the orange nipple was still there or not, any suggestions on what my problem may be on the car?

I believe the second O2 sensor on the 1.4l equipped Sonic is a heated sensor. I'd be inclined to assume the problem is the O2 sensor itself, rather than the catalytic convertor. It's certainly less expensive and easier to change the sensor than the convertor, so I would start with the sensor. The sensor failing could definitely be the cause of drivability issues with the engine.

What Are the Symptoms of a P0036 Code?​

One of the most common symptoms of the P0036 code is that the ECM will illuminate your vehicle’s Check Engine Light. You will also notice a decrease in the engine performance in your car, as well as increased fuel consumption. You may also find that the catalytic converter cannot perform as efficiently as usual. The ECM could also trigger a failsafe mode for your vehicle. A failsafe mode limits your car to a specific operating range and will cause driveability issues. Finally, your vehicle will more than likely fail emissions testing because of the changes to the exhaust content.

The sensor doesn't look that expensive, if you're able to change it yourself. Ramps should get you access to the downstream sensor if you have them.
