I'm running Mobil1 extended performance. It's dexos and guaranteed up to 15,000 miles.

Ams oil all the way! I run it in my lawn mower, generator, pressure washer, 600 hp cummins, and the sonic. All run quieter and smoother with more power. I was convinced a long time ago of their incredible products. I highly reccomend giving it a try.

castrol syntec it is 5w30 i will give reports on everything after about 500 miles on it

Why fram? I wouldn't use one in my lawnmower. There are much better filters out there

Fram is one of the top 5 oil filters in the United States and Canada. Most people form biased opinions from listening to friends or friends of friends before knowing the facts about quality.

Fram filters are made by Honeywell, in Mississauga Ontario, a suburb of Toronto. Quality control is strictly monitored, random samples are tested.
Fram also specifically manufactures filters for Subaru, with the new "blue' oil filters. Most people despise Fram with no real facts to back them up.
The US Military uses FRAM air and oil filters on alot of its helicopters. (Friend is an Army Helo powerplant technician)


Purolator, on the other hand, has been around since 1923 and is hailed as the first automotive oil filter. Thats all I have to say about them.

Does anyone know who and where the GM Sonic filter element are manufactured by?

About the fram, I've seen first hand that there junk.

fram was the only oil filter Ive had basically rust through, Buffalo winter on a 98 deville. not an issue with this kind but still shocking!

I'll also say that Fram sucks. With so many good filters on the market, why buy a Fram? I got my Hengst from the dealer for less than $7.

Good buy. I knew it was way overpriced, but I was itching to drain the break-in oil and fill up with Mobil 1 EP, so I let the local stealer (not the one I bought my car from) take me for like $12.95 on the Hengst filter for the convenience of it.

Needless to say, I will be buying my filters via amazon from now on.
