Uncomfortable Door Elbow Rest

The hard plastic elbow rest on the driver's door is very uncomfortable and causes pain over long drives to where I can't put my elbow there anymore.
I was searching online for a small elbow pad that would fit there but I couldn't find any small enough.
I found this one but I wonder if it will fit. It's kinda bulky lookin though..
Does the elbow rest bother anyone else? Has anyone found a solution?

I know exactly what you're talking about, after about an hour or so it hurts my elbow quite a bit. I thought about also putting osmething there but that pad looks pretty lame haha

My commute is 75 miles one way. 150+ everyday.

1.5hrs one way so 3hrs a day commute.

I will be at 15,000 miles today.

I have never thought of it as an elbow rest but then again I don't use the arm rest that came with the seat either as I keep a seat cover over it at all times.

My commutes are generally 5 minutes so my arms don't get that tired :p lol.

Woah yours is longer than mine. 120 miles each day for me.

thats not counting days like today when i have to goto the field to take notes for designing jobs i do. so far today i've put on about 47 miles over my commute. 75+75+47=197 total today. i may still have to go back to the field again.

It's definitely painful to me over long drives, too. The only way I'd ever put something there is if I could buy some soft touch plastic I could cut to shape to match the design of the arm rest.

I often drive 75-100 miles a day for my job, and the arm rest feels fine for me. Maybe it has to do with one's elbow, how boney your arm is, how sensitive the skin, nerves, etc. are. But I drive a lot with my left hand on the upper part of the wheel, so I often use the window sill for an arm rest. And when my window is open, I put my arm all the way back. That required removing the door lock stem, which I feel is an antiquated feature and doesn't belong on the top of the door sill any more. They are pretty much pointless, IMO (but I suppose that is a discussion for another thread).

6'3", 200...I think I have the seat about half way between high and low. I also don't have it all the way back. This car has the most leg room I've ever had. The seat goes too far back for me! :D

when i had the seat low, i had the same problem. raising the seat so you can level your arm with the door should fix the issue.

I don't think seat height is the problem. Like J T said, I'm skinny so my elbow is boney. I was actually thinking lowering my seat might help but then I'll have less visibility. I like the idea of soft touch plastic. Or maybe cut out a small piece of rubber or padding.

i have boney elbows and always have problems with them digging into the armrests. I got gel wrist rest put it on the arm rests and now ride with no elbow pain even on 600+ mile drives.

I wouldn't know, I keep my right hand on the shifter, and my left on the wheel. I don't think I have ever used the door arm rest..
