Smaller than a Chevette

My friend has a Chevette and figured we'd line em up, sonic is smaller although you wouldn't know it from the inside...kind of hard to tell from the pic but the Sonic is smaller, obviously taller...

LOL A girl that lives in my building has an Aveo and parks next to me...and I just laugh laugh laugh, they look very very similar but the Sonic looks much much nicer and better built

Yeah, atleast it's a stick, he gets great gas mileage, bought it on Craigslist for cheap and painted it flat black and made a center console. I was just surprised at how roomy the sonic feels. It's the size of a Chevette but it doesn't feel like your in a Chevette or a metro.

Yeah, that thing was a real beauty!

Bought one, new

I actually bought a 77 Chevette new and we ran it over 120,000 miles until a Surburban totalled it. It was still a lousy car especially brakes, manual transmission, and water pumps.

I kinda like the Chevette. Always though it would be neat to put a Quad 4 in one. Especially a W41.

The 80's ones are boring but in defense so was pretty much all car design in the 80's. It's not like anything VW or Honda or anyone was doing was anywhere more exciting.

Sure there were some ugly cars, but there were a lot of good looking cars. The ugly ones, like the Chevettes, definitely stood out from the rest.

Same can be said for some cars these days as well.

My first car was a two tone blue chevette, I beat that car to death, and it still ran. Couple of my friends also drove chevettes and they also said its not a pretty car but it will take a beating and still run. Lots of fun memories....

When I turned 16 my great uncle Gary offered to give me a car. The car was? An 83 Chevette diesel. Needless to say, I took my dad's offer of a 2000 Cadillac DTS instead. He still has that old Chevette though. haha. I'll see if I can get a picture of it.
