The person posting could very well have been me.
Just as Vince at Trifecta is well known for his GM tunes Brian at Vermont Tuners is known for his SAAB work. His work is also well regarded in the Cruze community.
Brian does tunes for engines not transmissions, and that distinguishes him from Vince. Also Brian's package includes a handheld (EFILive I think) where Vince's uses a cable connected to a laptop. But you need a laptop to datalog Brian's tunes.

As for Vince's, there are a couple Trifecta vendors on SOF, but BNR would be the best known here.
I do not believe anyone on SOF is using Vermont Tuning.

They just managed to hit 15.2's in their 1.4 Cruze, while we've had Stratton's Sonic 1.4 running 14.7s on pump gas, and 14.4's on race gas. No other company is running 14's at all besides us.
Plus we add features all the time... They don't. We have Select-a-tune, they don't. We have No-Lift-Shift, they don't. We will (hopefully) have launch control soon, they won't.

Exactly why I shot down the salesperson when they didn't have a Sonic I wanted and he offered a Cruze.
Why would I ever choose to lower my power:weight ratio and gas mileage voluntarily?

your wrong about the mpg. i've seen myself a cruze eco averaging 59 mpg with a tune.

Using the exact same engine, weighing more, unless they add *extra gears they're sacrificing gear ratios to achieve it which means I can have better mileage but sacrifice performance - for more money - not interested.

Sounds like its just a 2-step like I asked about in the other thread or does it do anything additional?
Are there any dyno numbers for the vermont tune (or trifecta) posted anywhere?

I posted your thought on Vince's forum.
There are dyno numbers for the trifecta tune posted in a couple places. I think the DDMworks vendor section has one of them.
