Bolt pattern? American

Hi just wondering what the bolt pattern is for the american sonics mine is a LTZ with the 17" rims if that changes anything. Also im quite curious to what a spacer is ment for?

The Sonic has a 5x105 bolt pattern.

Now, I'm sure a mod or admin will be around shortly to lock this and tell you to search next time.

You gotta use the advanced search and search titles most of the time to get what you are looking for. Or go to the wheel tire forums and scroll down the thread titles until you find one that is relevant.

Spacers are used to achieve the desired offset to get the outside of the wheel lined up with the fenders. The stock wheels have 38mm offset.

Checking out the wheel search in tirerack.com would have given you this info. Every wheel they show for our cars is a 5x105.

so if I were to go with a, lets say 40mm offset would the rim stick out further than the fender? and is there anything you can do for that or no?

40mm wouldn't be hardly noticeable, but slightly less close to fender than stock.
Check out Opticon's build thread, I believe he got flush with a 23 offset.
