Pretty sure the Sonic Rob Dyrdek has of was driving is pretty modded.....sure there has to be something.......have a prototype aftermarket turbo and bov and keep it a sleeper....now there's an idea, pssshhhhhh

I don't think robs sonic had as much as you think, he only had to hit a speed around 60 mph, the car was definitely gutted and had a exhaust but other than that it didn't sound to have a aftermarket turbo or much motor work done to it, his take off seemed to be just a quick as a stock sonic

LOL, I've never owned a turbo car, and I have no idea what these kinds of upgrades cost. I didn't know if an upgraded BPV is a major change to part of the turbo system or just a minor bolt on replacement.

arguably the best BOV is the HKS SSQV (Super SeQuential Valve) is only 105-130 on ebay, I have one from my old WRX that I saved for no reason when I traded it in.

Glad I have it now, just hope I can make it fit.

it doesn't appear to be that hard to change out, i believe 3 allens or torqs and a vacuum hose. never removed one so idk how hard it actually is. just speculating from what i can see on the outside.

This is my first Turbo'd car as well. Does the aftermarket part exist to do this upgrade?? I thought that what is what this thread is for, those of us PATIENTLY waiting for the BPV upgrade

Strictly Custom, keep on patiently waiting BNR has not stated they are done with theirs yet and i've not heard of any other options as of yet

I do notice you have a ported turbo SX....where do they do that at?

i'm sure most performance shops can. but i did mine in my garage. it was nothing really extravagent just opened up the exh runners alil and smoothed out some rough edges here and there

it took forever thou. i would say around 14 hours including removal, porting, and install

it revved out better but that was all i noticed, removing the tumblers in the intake manifold made the biggest difference. stock this car really started to fall off power after 5,000rpm and with just the turbo and intake mani work (no tune) it kept pulling up until around 6,100rpm when the ecm starts killing power.

i'm still on the stock tune and didnt expect to feel any real gains until afterwards since these mods are changing ariflow well outside of what the stock ecm was programmed to compensate for.
