I always tell people to get what they want and what makes them the happiest. I like the rs but I also like the other models in both hatch and sedans. Losing some value on what you have now to upgrade is worth it if it makes you happier and if you have the money I say go for it.

Well for me personally, The cost I'll be paying for the RS vs. my LS now is about $2,000 difference. So I'm sure you all know the options that come on the RS and what comes on the LS, and that's worth way more than $2,000 imo.

But I can see how those with LT or LTZ don't see it's worth.

I would if I could but dont think it would work out in my favor payment wise. Im trying to talk the wife into an RS when her Cruze lease is up but so far no bites

Whats the cost after tRading in a one year old sonic. I'm curious if anyone has taken there car to a dealer and priced out the trade yet.
If it was a sedan with higher performance maybe, but I don't see how the RS gives you anything the aftermarket has't already. I mean, rear disks aren't necessary without a performance upgrade. I can install a better stereo on the cheap. I can by more exciting rims online. Pedders has a better suspension set-up I'm sure. If....if it was putting out 200-230hp then yes. Optioning out an economic car, or taking a bath on a trade in doesn't seem worth it. Seats are nicer, but then again its still a cheap car. Hard plastics are still the same. I can't see the seat when I'm sitting on it so...meh. Don't do it. Save the money for a few more years and then trade in for a .....Sonic SS?!

I wonder if I can trade in now for an RS and then when the 1.6T is available trade in the RS for the 1.6T Sonic? I guess it would depend on what I want to do. Or maybe I should defer to your sentiments and not do what I want to do?

Hmm, so many decisions and so little time to act on them.

I believe I will take the route that since it is my money I am spending, I will act on my decision. I guess that means I will be forced to ignore THKPIC's advice. Oh well, will not be the first time I have ignored another's unsolicited advice, THKPIC, so please don't be too put out.

Or be so put out you can't sit down. Whichever of the two or whatever is in between.

I guess it all depends on what the person wants and also how much they have to spend. I saw a fixed up base model that looked really good. It was a slick sonic that got lots of attention.

I like the rs best but I also like all the sonics too. If I had the money I'd upgrade to the rs, if not I would customize what I had and be just as happy most likely.

Went over to the local dealership today and saw quite a few sonics including a RS for the first time. I wouldn't mind having the RS exhaust tip and spoiler on my LTZ hatch. I took a few pics of the rear and close up of the exhaust. Is the exhaust system different in the RS or did they simply weld on a nice chrome tip? Will that part be available? I attached pics of the RS and a non-RS below.

looks like just a new tip was welded on but without cutting up the exhaust you'll never know, as for the spoiler and rear lip that should be an easy swap once you can order the parts from GMPD.
