Boost gauge install help

I just ordered an Autometer mechanical boost gauge for my 1.4T. Looking for tips from those who have installed one. I have located the black w/green stripe line under the intake manifold. This seems to be where most folks are tapping in. Any thoughts on where to come through the firewall? Any tips would be appreciated.

Yes. Looking for additional info. I'm not convinced that a line coming from the turbo is the best location to tap into. My understanding is that you are looking for a reading at the intake manifold.

I think you're right, I don't have much knowledge on this but I think they are splitting some of the hard plastic lines for the intake manifold. I think I remeber another thread with pics of where the line was t'd but couldn't find it. I will dig some more for you.

Makes sense. Quackers the Sonic has had it's BPV hose messed with a lot lately... How's the hybrid thing going?!

It's working well. All the sound of the HKS with all the recirc of the stock.

This is the line they are using over on Cruzetalk. It can be located from underneath the intake manifold. I think the smaller circled area might be the line that comes from the BPV??

OK, thanks Eric. So they are getting accurate readings from that line, correct? I just want to do it right the first time.

That line is telling the HKS BOV when there is a negative and positive pressure so it should work just fine.

Well, this is not going well. I kinked my nylon tubing when running it through the firewall so I thought I might as well try the black line with the green stripe since that's about as far as my line would reach. It doesn't work. It appears to show a constant vacuum only. Now I've got to splice that line back together and figure out some way to get a line from the Autometer t-fitting up to the BPV line. GRRRRR.

O'reilly's or autozone; windshield washer fluid vacuum line.

OK, finally got it straightened out. Works well and seems to read very close to Torque Pro. Maybe slightly higher. I still have not seen higher than 13.5 psi. Looking forward to the tune!
