Got the RS
I did pick it up yesterday. Went for a 100+ mile ride this morning. Liking it so far. 38.9 mpg on easy "break in" drive varying mph. Was lucky to get the Weathertech floor mats today because the supplied carpets look super; but would be trashed quickly by mud, dirt and snow. Also I did not get the splash guards installed because the regular flaps will not fit the front fender. (As I suspected, the lower RS is the difference.) The dealer expects to have RS splash guards in about 5 weeks. I'll take pictures soon--Sandy left enough mud on the road that my one day old car looks like an old-timer--[certainly not like me]. My overall impression is that I'll love it. Only problem now is that my iPod is too old! It won't show the menu on MyLink.

Congrats. I do believe yours is the first delivered to customer Sonic.
I suspected the mud flaps (or splash guards as Chevy likes to say) would be difficult.
Since the interior is my interest, please post your assessment of things like the seats and the steering wheel etc.

1. Which iPod do you have (iPod Nano, Classic, Video, or model number, etc)? I'm surprised to hear its not working with MyLink
2. Can you compare it to an LTZ/etc, assuming you've driven one of those?
3. What do you think about the seats & the leather? (Comfort, feel, etc, especially after driving a while)

A few opinions on new RS
Laborsmith, you asked about the steering wheel:
I like it very much: it looks good with the red stitching and the small inset
at the base which mimics the grill. It feels good too because of the thickness. The controls on left are cruise and on the right, phone,radio etc.

Glad I got the carpet out quick. The WeatherTechs did not come premudded. That was my first mod. I'm calling it the mud-mod. (also on the exterior of the poor thing)
The seats are very comfortable and look durable. The silly armrest is very
awkward--if you want to actually rest your arm on it, your elbow is just about in the back seat.
Here are 2 exterior pics, mud and all. I may post more later.

3.The seats are good (Leatherette=Plastic, I think. The suede-like material
on the sides might be a problem to clean if stained; but it looks sharp.
The RS emblem on seat and seat back looks good.

New car smell is from the plastics, I think. It doesn't smell like leather.

I was surprised by some other things:
- Remote starter standard
-electric outside mirrors, heated
-butt warmers, as I call them
-radio doesn't sound all that bad, good enough for me--includes plenty
of tone controls and an equalizer
-the computer has a timer so you could time your trip to Grandma's
house for Thanksgiving and check the mileage on the trip odometer
-the ride is smoother and more comfortable than I expected
-engine and road noise is much lower than I expected (this won't
be appreciated by some, I imagine)
-seat and steering wheel adjustable to fit anyone
-I haven't tried to squeeze into back seat yet
-I wish rear headrests were removable for visibility and easier lowering
the backs without moving front seats forward (at least I think so
when I put the driver's side rear seat down it hit the driver's seat)

To remove the rear headrests, there is a little detent on the side once pushd in that will release the posts.
I believe I am one who finds the Sonic in stock form to be too quiet.

There is a push pin on both sides of the headrest to pull them up and out.
You might have to lean the seat forward to clear the headliner..

What you dont understand is that Apple writes a different operating software and protocal for each Product it produces. This is why. Apple does not believe they need to follow any form of standard. Thats why they have there own team of techies writing code for what ever product they are assigned or are designing. Dont get me wrong Apple is a great company with some great products. Gm had approched Apple to endorse its products and use there logo on GM radios but that was caboshed when Apple demanded all Gm radio would have to have Apple chipsets. Carmakers have learned there lesson and will not have 1 supplier for any part. This can cause issues when the Supplier company goes bankrupt or Fold up shop for unknown reasons. Then there is no parts avaliable.
There is not one automaker that every radio they produce will read every apple product! Thats a Fact.
