Still can't remove the Rear Head Restraints
They don't seem to be removable, laborsmith and vmaxed
From the Manual, 3-3
Rear Seats
The vehicle's rear seats have adjustable head restraints in the outboard seating positions........

Rear outboard head restraints are not designed to be removed.

The circled detent in the above picture is pushed after the headrest is fully extended by pushing the larger detent in order to unlock the headrest and remove it. I too was told it could not be removed.
Now the question to be answered is this: is the 2013 rear headrest mechanism changed for 2013. My 2013 has not been built so I can't say, but I will be surprised if it is changed.

The 2012 Manual has the same language say "not designed for removal."
I reinstalled the rear headrests last week and I may deinstall if my car is not built today as it has such a limiting factor on rearward vision as to make backing up uncomfotable.
Now the question to be answered is this: is the 2013 rear headrest mechanism changed for 2013. My 2013 has not been built so I can't say, but I will be surprised if it is changed.

Ok, thanks. That's kind of crazy about Apple wanting to require chipsets in the user device like a head unit (??).
I've noticed aftermarket iPod adapters and home docks, etc. support quite a few iPod models; that's more along the lines of what I was referring to.
I guess whoever buys a Sonic w/MyLink will basically just need to pick up a compatible iPod to keep in the car for that reason. Oh, well. eBay it is...

Thanks to you, laborsmith and vmaxed. I had the left button/detent ok; but did not realize the right, different appearing detent was part of the process until I saw the photos. Thanks again. It's nice to have helpful folks on this site.

BTW, the Head "Restraints" are now restrained under the hatch floor.

4B00 has two meanings, bayed for shipping and bayed in quality control, so everyone gets at least one 4B00 before getting 4200, shipped. Quality control hold usually takes two days but may take more if there is a problem. My memory is Dragcamaro was in QCHold for just over two weeks, and during that two weeks manual transmission Sonic RSs were not assembled, indicating a problem was found.
Your car will go by train and once it leaves the plant will take one to two weeks to get to the railyard will it be be taken off the rail autocar. Once off it takes two or more days for dispatch to assign it to a carhauler, and then it goes to the dealer.
