First visit to the dealer I was going to report a few things, one is the rear suspension squeaking when I first use the car (after say 12 hours of sitting dormant). I verified it was the suspension by sitting/standing in the back seat and it's definitely creaking each time I sat down. But after a few times doing this it stops. Nearly everytime I start moving the car in the morning it makes a few creaks/squeaks then I don't hear anything the rest of the day.
I'm due for the first oil change soon so I'll report back. My guess it's just the shocks, and since we typically have damp/dew/foggy mornings where I live (Upstate NY) it could just be a moisture/temperature thing. Haven't had it long enough to draw a correlation between temps, but it SEEMS to happen more when it's 50F or colder in the morning.

The problem has been fixed under warranty at jim keras chevrolet in memphis,tn free of charge. Was at the dealership 1.5 hours. Problem has not resumed.sway link bar replaced on both sides.

My sonic sedan 2012 LT has the same issues with front suspension noise. Bought the sonic new in November of 2011. Now with 12,000 miles on it, the noise of slapping or looseness when going over small ripples in the road, which sounds like struts or sway linkage wear is aggravating to hear. Makes the car seem cheap, but i love the car! Heading to the dealer ship at Sweeney Chevrolet in Cincinnati this coming veterans day week hoping for a fix. Any suggestions are appreciated and I will post the outcome.

My Sound has near to 14K distance on it and I have had it for about 9 several weeks. I was just chalking it up to residing in the Birkenstock boston City place and our streets being junk (bumps, potholes, breaks... and that is just the highway)

UPDATE................
Got my Sonic 2012 with 13,000 miles on it back from the Dealership just now and the problem they found with the front end suspension noise was......
WORN E2140 Link or Bushing, front stabilizer shaft at control arm...
Installed 2 new front stabilizer links, Left and right sides were worn #13926!
The Sonic now sounds as good as new!!! Only took and hour and a half!

I have experienced the same issues with my Sonic. At the dealership right now FINALLY getting it fixed. Replacing sway bar and linkage. Funny, it only took 3 different dealerships to find the problem.... will be glad to have my car back to normal!!!
I came across this site, while looking for answers to the mystery clunk in my sonic's front end. It has been at the dealer's service center 3 times for this particular noise and they can't figure it out. It makes a loud clunk when turning forward or reverse, but it is not consistently doing it. It can even be felt through the floorboards. (It previously would make series of small clunks when turning at snail speed and that has been fixed.) So far it has had the end links, strut mounts, controll arms, and the rack replaced....and the clunk is still there. Thankfully, they get me a rental vehicle every time. Nobody has worked on a sonic yet in my area and I know there has to be another sonic in GM's records that has had this problem. I think a GM field rep is going to come out next.

a T fitting comes apart really easy, you can fix it with a zip tie or bring it.
Now I'm pissed off . I was told a total of two hours . In fact they said a bit of cushion was built into that time . I dropped it off before 8:00am . I told them I work third shift and was waiting for this and I told them about the links .
I have been walking around the block in the rain to keep alert .
They called me at 9:40 to tell me the oil change and recall is done but they just test drove it and think it might be the links and need another two hours to fix it . I don't want to wait for another appt.
As I'm writing this @ 10:35 they called me to tell me its actually done ... only took one hour .. not bad .. I'll drive it and finish this post ...
I had to pull over because I can smell burning oil in the really bad . Opened hood to see oil on motor and even the fan and cooling lines . **** me right . Noise is gone ...

sounds like you need to find a new dealer to go to.
