Damn, sorry to hear that. We don't have much deer up hear in ny. These cars suck anyways! I bought mine not to long ago and quickly gave it to my wife. She loves it but I'd much rather have something faster. Try checking the dealer you got it from, or take my advise, sell it!!!
Vehicle vs animal damage is NOT a warranty claim. That is purely between you and your insurance company or you and your checkbook. But as stated some insurance companies will not penalize you for animal accidents as they are "acts of god".
1.8 AT - love mine. Drove the 1.4T and the 1.8 AT far better suited my daily commute in 65+km of regular stop and go traffic. No deer in NY?? Ha! You must be in the city. They are as common as squirrels upstate! My daughter and my sister each hit one within the last 2 months. As far as the "sell it" advice, you must have a 1.8 AT. I would sell that too.
I see 30 to 40 deer a night I am quit good at dodging them.

You'll need to check with your insurance company but with State Farm hitting an animal is considered a comprehensive claim (sometimes called "Other Than Collision") and does not count against you. You need to act quickly, as the longer you wait the more likely it is that they will need to investigate.
I'm betting there is not an insurance company out there that would live with 3-6 claims every year without raising your rates one way or another. Maybe they would increase your rate under the category of frequent claims.
