I am thinking it could have something to do with the door latch mechanism in the door. Could be faulty.

Replace the radio

Pull the door cover off. Disconnect the wire pigtail. Put your volt meter on dc and put them in the prongs. If you push the switch and your meter shows 12 Volts, then your switch is fine. Replace the motor.

Check your backup camera settings if there is a way they might have been shut off. If not, then I think you will find your outside temp sensor stop working, and your steering wheel radio controls quit. You'll need a new head unit from the dealer to fix all those problems, mine was replaced under...

I had the same issues. Steering wheel controls for radio stopped working. Outside temp sensor disappeared and radio would sometimes take forever to turn on. Also, the lines on my backup camera disappeared. Dealer replaced factory head unit and that solved all those problems.

I've had vacuum lines blow off that cause this issue but Ive never heard of it fixing itself. Sounds like the computer is sensing something it doesn't like and is limping the boost. Any CEL codes?

Did anyone ever figure this out? My 2016 RS is now doing this. Locked me out of my own car while I got the mail and had to walk home lol
