Have you verified fuel? Perhaps make sure your fuel pump is operating. Turbo or non turbo? The reason I ask is, I have the turbo and I can look for the best place to check for fuel pressure and get back to you.

That's good news. Thanks and what a great idea to use the shop vac to check for leaks. I use ramps to get under vehicles for oil changes so hopefully I can get the access I need to the flex pipe. Have to locate some oil leaks while I'm there.

I know it's been a year but can you tell me if you solved the problem or did you sell the car?

I see it's been some time since this post and I see no responses. May I ask if this is the 1.8L or 1.4? I have the 1.4L. I have no useful advice to help with your issue but I am interested in the progress so please keep posting.

Found these posts in search. Not sure if the issues were resolved and am curious if you don't mind me asking. What was the fix if any? I just replaced both Valve cover and intake manifold but haven't solved the problem of excessive crankcase vacuum.

Not sure if you're still active considering the date of your post. How was the catalytic converter issue resolved? I am getting P0420 Catalytic efficiency below threshold. I will check recalls if my 2015 Sonic LTZ is included.

How did the issue get resolved? I’m dealing with the same engine code P1101 but the description says mass airflow sensor malfunction. Still trying to diagnose.

Valve cover due today is to hopefully solve a serious negative crankcase pressure issue. Pull the dipstick and the idle gets rough...

Currently waiting on a new (after market) valve cover due to show today.
