bro i ran a 14.60 with my own weight mr. jelly jelly get off my belly. was trying to help you out dip**** but thats fine.dude my friend driving was a 175pound difference. the less drag you have the faster you will go. y u so angry doucher wingbling

Wow this thread is getting intense.
The previous 3 or so fastest Sonics were driving and worked on by people very involved in this forum with a very obvious knowledge for modifying cars, in many cases on the leading edge for knowledge on the forum. They're also running most of the latest bolt on/buyable mods and many trade secret mods and/or running unobtainable parts.
Quite impressive so far, but they even post all pertinent info relating to their runs.... Upfront. While this doesn't guarantee true times, I can say my rather insightful bullshat detector has not gone off.
Then out of the blue someone posts a time faster than the leaders with little evidence ,and then starts talking down to the people that provided them much information that would make a good run possible.
And then to top it off this "best run" was ran by another driver......
Then more talk and putdowns with only generic evidence supporting said run, the kind an internet techie knows but actually knows nothing about.
Not saying that run wasn't genuine but the delivery, mystery mods and tendency to sling insults before evidence has my bullshat detector pegged.
I've noticed a trend, true stories are either accompanied with specific details or irrefutable evidence and usually a combination of details and solid evidence..... Also seldom accompanied with smack talk except when in the presence of well established friends.

Well put. I think this is why most of us aren't incredibly impressed with the 14.34. I mean hey, that's an awesome time, but we didn't get to be involved in the journey or weren't included in any info sharing. It was a sudden, " ha I'm super fast and if you don't like it, than I smash you face. "
Clearly not congruent with the rest of the discussion and friendly competition that has been enjoyed here for many months.
Maybe start over and join in on sharing tuning tips and techniques, and we will more likely be cheering for more successes instead of giving you the GTFO.

Real talk though, I got my qtr mile log looked at by a 1.4T hobbyist. He said I'm flowing an impressive 18.9 lbs/min.
The wastegate tweak that BS had someone do for him, may have achieved him 22 lbs/min, but at lower than redline revs. Guess what that means? Massive sudden increase in compression ratio....... which is very dangerous to the top-end, i.e. head gasket, valves etc. This is what people chasing the boost dragon don't seem to understand. Mass Air Flow > Boost.
He got lucky that nothing popped, really lucky.
The GT14 upgrade that is coming soon should allow me to flow 22lbs/min without insane amounts of boost pressure. I want more flow, not pressure.
Also I wont have to get out and pop my hood when I want to make my car fast. It will be fast and stay fast.............. safely.

The more you know about the wastegate, the less likely you will want to alter it.
Now if we were working on a heavily modified 1.4 long block rebuilt with 25psi+ boost in mind. it'd be a different conversation. We'd prolly also select a piston or port the chambers to start with a lower compression base point.
But as of now, nobody is NHRA top-fuel competing with a Sonic, so the idea of pulling up to the line and making a Boost/CR adjustment for a single motor risking run and having a 5 man pit crew rebuilding it before the next pass seems a little hysterical.
