If she had a good reaction time she didn't red light....... However she won't post her 1/8 mile times because she's not happy with them, at least that's my guess.

A 16.4 1/4th isn't horrible for a stock 1.8 but a 16.4 1/8th is horrible for even a moped.......

16.4 is slower than what should be expected. Lets figure out what held you back. Did you do manual shift your auto?
Did you get a nice peel out on your launch?
You want a little slippage to get your boost up quickly.

Used auto and no peeling. What is a power break? And could I use that next time?

I haven't heard that term, but with an auto you want to stand on the brakes and rev your engine close to the point of a burnout.... Maybe 2,800-3,300.
As the light goes green, let off brake, pin the throttle, and pucker up.
That's a power brake. Load the car as Preloader said and launch hard. Keep in mind this boils your transmission fluid and you want a good cool down and should consider trans fluid changes more often than not if you tend to do this a lot.
