Good improvement Eric, but as you stated you need tires. Stock with summer rubbers I have the same 60'. You should be able to dip into the 14's easily.

From what I've been reading online you can drop from 1/4 to a full second off 60' times with just slicks.

I'm sure if someone wanted to pony up the cash and call up a driveline shop they could fab something up within a couple of days.

Not that I am making huge power, but with the Eibachs the launches are smooth. Hell, they were smooth stock. I have launched hard over 100 times, with 10 of them at the track. My tires arent the stickiest, but a huge improvement over stock. I think you need to worry about the axles when you start making serious power and are able to put it down and have the ridiculous wheel hop that has been mentioned. I am more worried about the clutch. I dont see that getting trashed anytime soon either though.

Agree 100%. There just isn't anything on the market yet and money can buy/build anything.

He was probably trying to not laugh about slicks on a Sonic. Let us know how it runs with the slicks. I think once traction isn't a problem we will start to find the short comings of the drive train.

Some of the stress of the torque is distributed out through the wheel hop. The slicks will pretty much end the hop, and will redirect the full torque through the clutch. Please count the quantity of passes you make on the slicks with the stock clutch....... They will be numbered. But I want to know that number.
