Here's a question......is there any reason this wont work in my sonic? The blocks etc are the same through the model years are they not?

In the description it says it only fits 12-15 sonic AT

But if all I'm using is the block and the head then any other minor differences/incompatabilities are pretty much irrelevant.....no? it?

The best way to check that is to look up the part numbers on some place like gmpartsdirect.com and see if they’re the same. I did this a while back with cams and cam phasers and found them all to be the same.

Gotcha.
I'm hoping to get a basic 91 tune with a few mods (intake manifold is high on the list due to PCV fix) for this engine. Nothing crazy, I'd like to do anything but compromise reliability. I wont even put in a bigger turbo.

My plan is to save the really crazy $h!t for an engine from pick'n pull. Will probably take me 2 or 3 years to slowly peice everything together, but I want to do an all out performance engine with a 300hp at the wheels goal. And when I say all out, I'm, talking 4340 connecting rods, pistons, head studs, everything. If there is a stronger and more durable option internally I'm going to put it in.

Never built an engine before but always wanted to. Why not? And this way I dont blow up my summer DD

I just posted this in the AWD threads!! If what they're saying is true I might not even need a new subframe and suspension in the front! Very interesting indeed.....and as far as ride height, springs or coilovers will easily solve that issue.

Well, I guess they do exist......very interesting! The Mokka looks like another clone of the trax/encore.

Would likely be the last mod I would look at though.....I'd rather be sideways for 90 than sideways for 2k....

I’m very curious how much work this would be if you had a scrap Traxx or Encore. I don’t know how much weight it would add to go AWD, but launching would be much improved. With the ABS fuse pulled, it’s a chore not to light the tires up all the way through first gear.

My biggest concern is if the AWD still works with the fuse pulled. I dont know what it reads off of. If it still functions with the fuse pulled, then that's my concern put to rest. I'm pretty confident I can get this project done. I just need another sonic. I dont want to tear mine apart xD

With AWD, I doubt you’d need to pull the fuse anyway unless you started getting well above 300whp.
