Amongst the legends that exist in the automotive industry, one of my favorites:
The last year Fiero could have easily been the second or third year; everything in the last year was available. Chevy withdrew objections once it learned the Fiero was at the end of its life.
Could the Fiero in any guise taken sales from the Corvette? Per the legend, someone thought so.
Do I see a 200HP 2 seat coupe/hatchback as a direct competitor to the 450HP Stingray 2 seat coupe/hatchback? No. And I do see a niche for both.
As to the RWD R and the FWD S, I have often wondered how easy it would be to reverse underpinnings.
