Taller fifth would work too. 6 gears is theoretically more efficient because you don't have to change your revs as much between gear changes. I know there is other factors, and speed reduces efficiency in all vehicles, but with the right gearing the peak efficiency can be moved up to around 55-60. Then 70 isn't AS far from peak.
