There are wireless connections that connect to the ODB II port and either use WIFI or Bluetooth to communicate to devices like phones and gauge tools. LogWorks is an application available from the App Store for apple products like Torque (a popular Andriod app, I wish it was an Apple app as well). What you get with a Scan Gauge or Ultra Gauge plugged into the OBD II port with a cord is what you get to these wireless devices, you can scan codes, read sensors and log as well. Some go into using sensor data and allow you to get 0-60 times, HP/Trq rating, lateral G's all using the phones sensors. I am really looking at the Garmin set up that one of the guys on the forum pointed out, it uses a Garmin Blue tooth OBD II port and talks to the bluetooth GPS and gives you a lot of the stuff that the SC/UG give you plus you have a function GPS.
I thought you might be joking but wasn't sure, I try and keep up with the electronics (I love tuning and got a taste of it with Hondata and my 09 Civic Si) and try and keep up with what I can while deployed and at home.
