Aftermarket floor mats that actually fit?

Hi all,

I have a 2013 Chevy Sonic LTZ that is missing its floor mats! OH NO!!!

I saw that I can buy OEM ones directly from the manufacturer, but before I go that route I was curious if you guys know of any aftermarket floor mats that actually have a good fit? I'm reluctant to try to buy any "one size fits all" because they generally fit wonky.

Not sure if you are wanting textile or all-weather, but I just put Huskyliners on my '13 Sedan. The fit is excellent and the coverage of high up the dead pedal should protect that carpet nicely.

I've got weather techs in mine right now. doesn't cover the dead pedal though. I'm probably going to strip the carpet in that spot and make a plate to go there instead from over the years of winter driving.

I used the Aries brand floor mats for a bit. Fit well & weatherproof. They discontinued the black rear fitted mat so I yanked my front ones out. Its gotta match! ocd

I was thinking all-weather since winters in Idaho are sometimes unpredictable, and I'd like to keep my car nice. I found a used set of WeatherTechs fitted for a Cruze I am guessing they won't fit my Sonic. I just cringe at the thought of spending $100+ on pieces of rubber to step on.

WeatherTechs in both of my vehicles, my parents cars, my brothers car, etc. I live in Seattle (so rain) and head up to the mountains (snow), it's worth it if you plan to keep the car for a while. It's tough to swallow the $100+ for a set of mats, but IMHO worth it long term.

I don't like that the WeatherTech mats for the Sonic miss the dead pedal, otherwise they've been great since 2013 for me.

I'm starting to lean towards Husky Liners for that very reason. Plus, it seems like I can find them for around the same price as WeatherTechs on Ebay.

I have one more question for those of you who own all-weather mats, are they slippery underfoot? That is my biggest concern about buying those VS regular cloth mats.

I havent had a problem with WeatherTechs, I have had this issue with some of the cheaper universal mats from Walmart, Costco, etc.

Here is what I used to cover the dead pedal surface. This has been on mine about 5 years and is still in perfect condition. I use WeatherTech floor liners in Winter, and the stock carpet mats during the Summer months in conjunction with the 3-M pad. Click link below

I was driving my wife's Sonic today and I noticed how my foot likes to get hung up or scrape that area. It is only a matter of time before it is worn through.

Yep, based on your post, I put that above where my WeatherTech mats end. So it's about half as long as your full surface, but it ends up with everything covered.

These floor mats seem to fit all areas well . . . including the "dead pedal" area . . .

Those 3D mats look nice and appear to fit well. I have WeatherTech floor liners in an Equinox, a Silverado and my Sonic hatch. They offer very good fitment and protection; what I noticed over time is the surface finish gets dull where the wear occurs. Another observation is the material is thinner than I would have expected, and some of the logos that are attached with double faced tape have came loose and needed reattachment. Overall I'm satisfied with the WeatherTech liners, but they could be better.

I have the Weather Techs in a 2013 hatchback. The fit is slightly off. They run slightly small but overall I have found nothing better to date. My car has the two tone orange/balck interior so it started life with the orange pipped factory carpets. The driver side didn't wear very well so they were replaced with the Weather Techs.

I bought the 3D Classic formed mats and they fit like they were molded in place. They are a 3 layer constructions and light, but I wanted them to contain and prevent leaking from wet rain or snow.

I have some low cost smaller mats that I am placing over them where most of the wear would normally occur. Those will catch the brunt of the dirt and wear while the molded 3D mats will contain any spillage.
They seem pretty resistant to dirt and clean up easily.

I think you will like the fit. I did have to take a hair drier to the two front ones I got. The upper parts that go towards the under dash got a bit curled over in the box from shipping. Just some slow, easy heating along the creases on both top and bottom sides while applying some even pressure. I then put them flat on the floor to cool before installing. Fit very well.

I got the carpeted ones when they popped up on Amazon for $99 w/FS a couple weeks ago. For $30 off or so i couldn't pass them up.

What I like is that they will still allow me to put a set of those cheaper carpet type floor mats on top to catch all the wear and beating. Throw those out after a year or two. Then I can still have a pristine set of 3D mats for use in the better summer weather. I like to keep a clean car inside and out and a bit OCD about ragged, dirty and salt stained floor mats.

I ended up ordering some HuskyLiners and they just came in yesterday! I like the fit so far, and they cover the dead pedal too.
