Anybody happy with their sonic?

Happy yes I am with my sonic

you ask if we are happy cuz everyone is negative on the forum. most forums will find people talkin about problems or upgrades. asking questions. don't care what forum you go to you will find this if it has an engine.
my 2013 sonic has been great so far with 28000 miles and its now paid for which is even better. lifetime drivetrain warranty is killer to boot.
car is not a performance car and I knew that when I bought it. It will never be fast like others. But I believe its nimble and sporty for the class of car it is in. I like the close ratio steering in my RS and the 1.4 turbo. enough power to get out of the way and yet good mileage. It corners on rails and will be even better when I upgrade the tires. I like that it is an American made car for an American company. I plan to own this car for many years with no plans to upgrade it as its my daily commuter and car for the twisties at this time. So ya. I am happy with my car as are many many others that I have spoken with. It still gets inquiries from people when I pull up and most people like it.

I forgot to mention that this has been a great road trip car for me. Driving from DC to Austin, TX, and back, plus other trips to Boston and Pittsburgh. The Sonic has done admirably. I am surprised how comfortable the seats are on those long drives. Sure I have to stretch my legs at gas stops, but comfort-wise, I have been impressed with it. That and getting great gas mileage on the highway.

Yep the sonic is great on long distance trips. I've gone from tennessee to oregon, from Oregon to Florida and Florida to south Dakota in my sonic. Its held up pretty good

Love my sonic, though her parts are my enemy. I find it important to know how everything works and behaves so when I have an issue I know what to do; know thy enemy kinda thing.

Of all the cars I've owned (18 different cars) my 2016 rs is by far my favourite. I've had faster cars, bigger trucks and the whole lot. The sonic does everything right tho. I've never been more compelled to leave a car stock. And that's a good thing.

I'm somewhere around 30 - 40 cars over my life time ... the Sonic WILL stay totally stock ... I'll have a much easier time selling/trading it if so ... and I've mod'ed nearly all the other vehicles I've ever had ... this one was bought for the milage and the only mods I can think I might be compelled to do would be some "real" gauges

That's funny, this is the first car I've felt compelled to mod, the first car I really loved as opposed to treating as transportation. I remember early on getting a trade in offer from a local stealership and thinking I wouldn't give up the car at twice that. That said, I drove a stock rental 1.8 sedan for a week, and it was nearly as nice (despite mine being 1.4, not at all stock, and a hatchback, clearly better in every way!)

Yes..the only car right now I'd give the sonic up for is another sonic. I guess my cars grow on me.

right now I'm still paying for my Sonic ... so no trading ... after pay off, I WILL look at the new Cruze Hatchback ... very interested in it, if only as a mental exercise ... I really like the idea ... especially if it will be offered with the Eco 6 option

other than that I'm likely to keep the Sonic for a while .... if the cancer dictates that I can no longer compete ...and I have to sell the CRX, I'll probably sell the F150 also, and get something else for my winter AWD option ... something with much better gas milage ... the truck gets on avg. ~ 13 - 15 unloaded, and 11 - 13 while towing ... so now there are many options out there, whereas in the past Subaru was pretty much the only options out there

I Love my Sonic LTZ Hatchback!

I've had my Sonic since December 2011 and absolutely love it!

The ONLY thing I wish I could upgrade (without trading in my car), would be to get the MyLink system that started with the 2013 MY vehicles. I like having an in-dash navigation system and having it run through your smart phone seems like a great idea. My current "Turn-by-Turn" feature through On-Star is ok, but I'm a map guy and would rather have an in-dash display screen.

I tried the Garmin nav stuff but don't like all the window dressing and the hassles that comes with it. I prefer a permanent in-dash nav system without having to give up my On-Star features.

I wish GM would offer an upgrade MyLink kit for the 2012 MY Sonics, but they want to sell you new cars and not find ways of having you keep your current (older) models. Despite this, I still find the Sonic to be the best car I've ever owned! :banana:

It is pretty great. I've actually had to tell myself im not longer allowed to drive when going through the menus though. It's not terrible but there is some lag when using a lot of the functions and it takes your eyes off the road. Personally i love my RS too much to risk it

2015 LS Sedan 1.8l automatic , purchased in June .

So far , we like it .

Wish it had a dipstick for the tranny and a way to service the transmission filter .

Wish it had a chain instead of a belt for the cam .

Love my green!

I love my 2014 Green Sonic LT! Everyone (even strangers) comment to me on the street or in a parking lot that they love the color. Green is my favorite color, so I had to have green.

It's just weird and ridiculous why I had to have a sunroof just because I wanted green. If I wanted a Sonic without a sunroof, I had to take blue, black, white, or red. But, if I wanted the fog lights, I had to take the green anyway. Fog lights are not standard on the other colors.

My car rides well, is quiet, and have not had any problems with it.

I'm sorry but I no longer shop with chevy. When I had my chevy sonic I expressed several concerns over numerous faults that the car was experiencing. Redlion chevy made no attempts to correct the defects. And in one case corrected a drive shaft issue by installing a faulty washer which prematurely triggered the abs system, causing a near death experience. I have no interest in patronizing chevy again and once my wife pay her car off she trading hers in also. We were dedicated customers until my experiences. CHEVY APPEARS TO FAVOR PROFIT OVER SAFETY!!!!!!
