It ALWAYS a good idea to clean/replace your cabin air filter. All the air goes through it, and if you've not cleaned it, it can create some back pressure on the fan impeller blades.
Easy to change too! .... Guess I need to check mine, been a while!
Well, I'll be taking my car into my dealership soon for this same issue. 2012 with just over 60k on it now and the noise is so annoying.
Not sure how this works with my extended warranty and deductible stuff as I've never used it before. I'm gonna price out a new one and see if it might be cheaper to just do it myself as I've already been into the glove box thanks to someone's instructions on YouTube!
I'll be ordering a new in cabin air filter too, even though mine didn't look too bad. So glad for this forum!
Has anyone done this... there are many reports of needing to cut the motor out of the housing? Has that been confirmed... Mine died at some point between me parking the car last night (was working when I parked it) and this morning (was not working with remote start or after restarting the car). It never gave any warning, just died... and I am out of warranty by like 1500 miles... Has anyone purchased the lower housing and replaced it that way?
