So after grabbing the 3 states that I'm going to be traveling in, and the base map pack that it requires you to download, It now force closes as soon as you try to open it. I'm looking at buying one of the model phones that are listed on the compatible page, and just using it in wifi-only mode, tethered to my actual smart phone. I suggest others do the same if they really want this to work right away, before engis pulls their head out of their rear.
BTW, can't believe the 600mb map pack downloaded in like 2 mins and the rest of the states I wanted took over an hour! They must've dumped mollasses in their servers or something

I replied to your PM before reading this today...
The definitely didn't follow the instructions. Upon restart of my car, I still had all of the old apps, pandora, etc, but I also had tunein and bringgo (just one icon for it).
All of my personal settings, Bluetooth, clock, etc were all gone and had to be reset.
Go in tomorrow and tell them you want the same Tech to do yours that worked on Mr. Wallace's 2013 RS.
They didn't f**k with me, because they know that Mr. Wallace doesn't like to be f****d by anyone except Mrs. Wallace.

Well, I'm on day 19 here with no reply to my email to your support about compatibility, not even a form reply. I'm wondering when, if ever, you plan on supporting more than 5 "new" phones. I have an upgrade becoming available soon on verizon, but I'm not going to take it until I'm sure that my new phone will work on your service. Also, wondering what substantially changed between the DROID 3 and the DROID 4 to make it so the DROID 4 is unsupported, even though it still runs the same OS as the DROID 3.

BringGo has been tested on many of the best selling Android phones. Some phones have failed due to issue with the OS, firmware or interfaces, and as such, have been deemed incompatible. The current approved phone list is available on the website: BringGo.com
We cannot comment on the differences between specific models as there are almost two thousand phones running the Android OS.
We are examining how best to improve compatibility of Android phones while ensuring the best possible end-user experience. We will keep this forum updated on changes to the supported list.

Never have I heard of paying for trial ware.
Can't justify blindly dropping $3 for trial ware and especial $50 without knowing this will outperform googlemaps on my Samsung GS3 that is free.
So far I think the mylink system is nothing more that a money pit for the consumer. Does nothing until you subscribe to monthly charges..
The Bringo is just one more $$ application that may not even work. If GM/Bringo want to make Mylink cost affective to the consumer, Mylink should at least have apps "included" like Bringo/Google maps, Onstar and MyChevy.
Sorry for the negativity but for just a few hundred I can go to wall-mark or best buy and get something with more functionality.

You are mistaken. There are no monthly subscription fees associated with the Sonic MyLink radio and any of its features. If you are interested in BringGo, there is a one-time purchase fee for the full app beyond the $0.99 trial period. Your choice to buy it or not. And, neither Google maps or a GPS unit interface with the radio and display navigation on the MyLink screen.
I'm glad to see that Birngo has FINALLY joined this forum. Bringgo has been released for a month now. I've checked the USA phone compatibility list periodically, and I don't think I've noticed any changes --- so either no phones have been tested since then, or every phone tested has failed. It might be helpful to post a list of phones that have failed compatibility, along with the Android version number tested, so those of us who are waiting can at least know where we stand.
And while there may be 2,000+ Android phones, there are probably less than a couple of dozen 'best sellers' in the US. The two best selling phones --- the Samung Galaxy S3 and S2, together account for 15% of the U.S. market. (Samsung tops U.S. Android smartphone market - Silicon Valley Business Journal). Only one S3 variant, the GSM version, is on your list; the Verizon and Sprint versions aren't, and the S2 isn't on the list in any flavor. Have the Verizon/Sprint S3's, and the S2, failed? Or hasn't Bringgo gotten around to testing the best selling Android phones?

I welcome BringGo to the forum. I have had responses to my emails although their answers were not what I wanted to read, ie: when will the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit SGH T679 (running Gingerbread 2.3.6) be added to the list of compatibles.

The monthly charge I was referring to was for OnStar (turn by Turn Is displayed in Mylink)and DivX (I think DivX is anualy or per file). I should have been more specific.
The point I was making is that most double DIN head devices you can purchase have most of of if not more functionality built in, with no extra cost.
my pseudo GPS that I currently use although does not integrate with the sonic only because the Mylinc device is not compatible with the samsung GS3.

I got it to work. Played with it all night, but I finally switched my device stuff back to stock and voila, no more force closes. Sutliff fixed their wrong install, now I'm just waiting to have a few minutes where I'm free and I'll go check to see if it hooks up to the car and everything. If it does, bringgo has some explaining to do because just saying it's not compatible because you don't want to invest the resources to check phones other than the ones your employees own is not a good enough excuse.
Either that, or try explaining exactly why it's not compatible with a large range of devices like they claim.

No disrespect meant, but the list of Android phones on your site is terribly inadequate. It's a very short list with several phone models that I have never heard of.
Your site also references "BringGo for Android works with the vast majority of Android devices using OS 2.3 or later." Obviously this is woefully incorrect, because it seems BringGo works only on very few Android model phones.
What would help the most is if you would list the cell phone provider with each model phone AND clear up the miscommunication regarding supported Android phones. i.e. - You can find info on Chevy's website that the Samsung Galaxy S III is a supported phone. However, the truth is, it's only a specific model of that phone offered by who knows which cell phone provider. (Hint: The Verizon version of this phone does NOT work, which is tremendously frustrating since it's probably the single most popular Android phone currently used in the world.)
For me personally, I'm a Verizon customer with a Motorola DROID 2 running Android v2.3. This model isn't supported though. So looking at your list of Android cell phones that are supported, I can't find any actually offered by Verizon, let alone any that are acceptable phones to me. (The newer model Android phones currently available "should" have already been supported.) So I can't upgrade to a newer phone and have any level of confidence that it will work.
I think if clearer information were listed and cell phone providers were also included for each model phone, it would at least help some of the frustration some Android users are feeling.
It's not so much that these phones don't work, I think it's more that bring go hasn't invested the time in testing that they DO work. As far as not supporting the same "named" phone but not the different model numbers...when the only difference between the two is the way they hook into the cell network, I think that goes to show that they really only tested the phones that their employees had on hand. When I originally looked at the app in the store on March 1st, when I was 1 day shy of taking delivery of my sonic, it was available for me to download to my phone, which is NOT in their "supported" phones list. However, the day I took delivery of my sonic, it was suddenly gone from the play store unless I looked it up on my computer, and that told me it was "incompatible". Like I've said so far, it appears that the app functions fine on my unsupported phone, so really, I'm wondering what the issue is with this whole thing. The DROID 3 WAS offered by verizon...2 years ago. I'm sure there's a few others on their supported list that are offered for verizon as well, but I doubt that any of them are a phone that can currently be purchased unless you want to go the ebay route.

I second that emotion. I took the list to the T-Mobile store near me and after looking at it the person said something to the effect: these phones have not been on the market for ages. He called T-Mobile to get the Exhibit SGH T759 from the warehouse and there were none to be gotten. He suggested I search Amazon to find a used one on the resale market.
Chevrolet this is no longer the developers problem: it is your credibility at stake. As I see it, the BringGo developer took on a job that demanded more than its resources can cover, but Chevrolet made the decision to give this assignment to them AND Chevrolet has the resources to get the job done.
Can you imagine a few years from now when a "millenium," trying to decide on a two seater V8 engined sport car is shown a MyLink equipped brand spanking new Stingray recalls the inability of Chevrolet to get BringGo to perform as advertised and thinks: not again. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

If bringgo would've been the deciding factor on buying this car, I would be a lot more disappointed. Frankly bringgo doesn't really matter to me, the radio interfaces with pandora, and has bluetooth, and that's all I really looked at. Getting a turbo engine with great gas mileage was what really sold me on the car (well, that and the safety of it...got a 4 year old traveling in the backseat most of the time.), all the other comparable models (of different manufacturers) felt slow, and didn't have the space/features of the sonic. If Chevy can get engis to fix this issue with bringgo, I would rate the car 5/5 stars, as of now, it's sitting at 4.5.

Ok, look, I'm gonna ingest some reality into the situation.
There are three problems.

Chevy's problem is that they should have made an effort to get google maps(android/apple) and apple maps(iOS only) as apps for their Mylink.
Engis's problem is that there are a billion android devices. This is the same problem anyone has with the android environment, and why a lot of people would pay for apps on the play store. You buy an app, it doesn't work, because the device manufacturers have 2000 devices, running 6 different version of the OS with 4 different desktop launchers/skins on top of them. It is a sh*t situation to work in from a development perspective.
If android 2.3 and higher works, anything running the default android 2.3 or higher (think actual real google made devices) probably work. But if you are running motoblur launcher or htc sense you might be screwed.
Your problem. Take ownership of your phone. If it can be rooted, and a custom rom exists for it, like cyanogenmod or one of the other popular custom roms, I bet you can get it to work on your device. A lot of people mod their cars here. Mod your phone. If you don't know what to do, PM me with your phone make, model, version, and android os version and I might be able to tell you if you might be able to get this to work. But please, stop making this out to be worse offer than it is; a minor inconvenience.

I'm running stock motoblur, just rooted. Yep, it works. My particular phone sold over 50k units, so why not test it? My personal opinion is that Engis never actually tested anything besides the few phones they have listed on their compatible page, and they tested those over a year ago...because most of them haven't been available NEW for about a year. If you're going to say that your app works on "most android 2.3 and above phones" then list 20 phones, and say that's most, you're not even in the same ballfield as working on "most" phones.

Because if it is running android x.x like yours, it's likely to have a similarly efficient processor and ram (Moto only support version x of android for so long), and the android OS HAL obfuscates a lot of the differences between devices from the apps that run on it. And if that version of blur isn't a problem, it shouldn't be a problem for that version of blur on any device....
This is just like when Netflix created an app for Android. They initially blocked a lot of phones from loading it, even though it worked if sideloaded.
Engis isn't as big of a company as Netflix. It's likely gonna take them a longer to sort this out. Fewer developers...
But this is actually Chevy's problem again for not dealing with someone with a bigger R&D budget.....
