Ummm, wait... I thought this mod negates the hose from the BPV (BOV?) to the solenoid..... bleh?!?
I did this to my auto and now I'm experiencing a
Different noise from my bypass valve. It almost sounds like
It's releasing pressure several times when I left off the gas.
Any ideas?
Until now, in every turbo gasoline motor, the bov/bpv is controlled by intake vacuum.I have been trying to understand how this works. Does the vacuum just manually release the boost when you let the gas off instead of the computer? How can this be safe if it is adding boost, but not fuel into the engine? Has someone tested the air/fuel ratio to see if the computer is compensating?

David

It uses the stock bypass valve. Can I jump in here with a question? and please forgive me it this question has been asked already. If I'm planning on replacing my factory BOV with and atmospheric aftermarket BOV, should I still do this mod, I mean, can this mod still help?

So you ended up undoing this mod because of the fluttering sound? I'm guessing that you didn't find the "benefits" of this mod worth putting up with the fluttering sounds? With your BOV, did you still get the wooch sound when you shifted or a fluttering sound instead? They're independent of each other. Changing the BOV does not impact how this mod changes the car, so yes you can still reap the benefits of doing this mod. I personally ran this mod while also running the forge BOV.
The caveat? I believe earlier in this thread and in my own personal experience, doing this mod with a BOV results in a fluttering sound when you let off the gas. I ended up undoing this mod while I had the BOV because the fluttering was quite pronounced.
