Are we sure it's not traction control kicking in? I feel like that would be the obvious answer, but the light would be flashing.

Yeah, you're right... if it was traction control, the light would flash but I noticed that when my Sonic started to hesitate or stumble the traction control light did not flash. My wife's Jetta did the same thing once but in her case it was because her car needed a new coil pack and new spark plugs. Her Jetta had about 120,000 miles on it when that happened. My Sonic only has 45,000 miles. I don't think I need to replace the coil rail at 45,000 miles but I'm going to replace the spark plugs to see what happens.
I just picked up this 2015 LTZ with the 1.4t. It is an auto. I wanted manual but all they had were autos. I've noticed that this car is a dog until about 10+mph. She's pretty quick once over that threshold...but until then I have to gauge carefully when pulling out as the launch sucks. Will this mod alleviate that?
The '15 RS I test drove was slow too, compared to my 12 LTZ. I think the reason being is that my car is well broken in, and the 15 was brand new. Give it time to break in properly and your performance will probably rise. I'd avoid mods until she's well seasoned and then go nuts.
Generally you want things to seat nicely. This incorporates wearing surfaces and fine metal debris. Staggered mid to high level pulls, but not redline, and nothing steady.
Change oil and filter often and repeatedly for first 5000km. ie 100,500,1000,2500, 5000 and then as normal.
At least this is how we did it when on fresh built racing motors. We would also use a zinc additive today.

I know the tester car was a slouch across the board, even at 3k rpm, when mine was a stuck pig that likes to do burnouts when I just want to accelerate quickly (from a stop). Stabilitrack feels like it throws an anchor out the back and is a PITA.
Stock vs stock. I've heard a broken in RS is quite impressive over the LTZ. Where the gearing puts the motor, I imagine it should be. In my case, the factory fresh RS was uninspiring, so I didn't trade in.
It took me some time transitioning from a RWD V8 to this little car. I liked sliding corners and the squat'n'go. Bad traction handling was predictable. In the Sonic, wheel spin and hop was a common problem for me.
Plus I like that the LTZ can get better mileage by cruising at a lower RPM. Fun car IMHO.
A nice compromise.
Driven a brand new '15 malibu up to 800km. Initially it was terribly slow vs the sonic. As the miles wore on, the car became more spirited. Break in matters.
But I still prefer the sonic.

Thank you for your replies. Does anyone think that this mod would greatly help launching? I'm not tracking it or anything. I just want to be able to take off without worry of making it.
It feels like the turbo isn't engaging until around that 10mph mark. The car has 7,500 miles on it. The launch feels the same as a 2013 with 30,000 on it that we test drove.

This mod will not spool your turbo any faster. That's why it takes a second or two to build boost when you take off. If you want instant boost at launch you'll need some launch control/two step which don't exist for this car.

Drive it like you stole it is my mentality, lots of conversation about break-in style with no real consensus. Me personally: load the engine differently and dont hold it steady-state; change oil after 500mi with non-synthetic, change to full syn around 2k.
I was wondering if anyone had noticed oil in any of your lines from this mod. Reason why I ask is that I have my boost gauge tied into this line and one day I noticed it not working. I found one of the lines blew off and the line leasing to my boost gauge had oil residue in it. It's a clear line that came with the gauge. No way for anyone to really check unless you pull it all off but just curious if someone else may have found the same. Thanks

This might explain my P0299 issues that only occur in the winter.
Considering oil vapors are regularly pulled into the intake from the PCV system, it's possible some can condense and drain into the line.
Having the pressure reference port exit the bottom of the manfold is not among the greatest of GM's ideas.
Not sure also but the oil could be the reason why the line blew off because the line was really soft and oily. Had to recut it. I'll have to watch it and see what happens. An interesting side not was that the car still drove ok. It lacked a little power but it still felt decent.

Well I found out that my miss fire issue was due to a faulty coil pack and not this mod. I'm sorry I doubted your mod MPFab, this mod is a great mod and I'm glad it was not the cause of my little miss fire problem.Cool. I hope you get things sorted.

That's why he recommended you undo the mod and then diagnose your vehicle issues.... The affect of the mod was highly unlikely to be the culprit
