Only one was a Spark. The other was a Sonic.

some clarification.

The Twins
Brand-new Autobots created especially for the movie, Skids and Mudflap are based upon two of GM's brand-new concept cars, The Trax and Beat. In fact, at one point, the robots themselves might have been known as Track and Beat, but their new names won out.

More clarification.

In Revenge of the Fallen, the "twins" start out as other cars (one is an ice cream truck, forgot the other), but then when given the opportunity for new cars, they both want the Chevy Beat (Concept name of the Spark; current name of Spark in India). Skids ends up pushing Mudflap out of the way and taking the Beat, making Mudflap take the Trax concept (which by the way is coming out next year overseas).

They were both scripted into the Dark of the Moon, both as Sparks, but were eventually removed. You can see them in one of the final scenes where the convoy of Autobots are leaving the military base.

Just thought I'd add some insight on the Spark since they arrived in Houston just today and I went to inspect and drive one.

For $14,495 retail the 1LT manual is the best buy IMO. Power windows, lock and mirrors, keyless entry, XM, MyLink w/Bluetooth, cruise, steering wheel controls, etc. The car is rated 32MPG city and 38MPG highway, but the big number is the city number because that's where these cars will spend most of their time. That city mileage is better than the last 4cyl./5-Speed Metro, and this is a much better, safer car with more power. The Spark's price is also about on par with a 4cyl. Metro hatch adjusted for inflation, but again, this is a much better, safer car.

Impressions? It feels more Korean than the Sonic, but it's still a decent car. It's not exciting to drive, but it's not bad at all. My 350lb. father and my 385lb. self fit in it just fine, even side-by-side in the front seats. The rear seats are a little cramped, but at least it has useable rear seats unlike the iQ, 500, Cooper or fortwo. Cargo area is tiny but it's par for the class and the rear seats fold for more cargo room. MyLink is pretty nice.

The funny thing about this is that in the olden times a matching interior or painted dash was the sign of a budget car as they would paint the whole thing and not put in the extra money to paint the dash a different color. All the budget cars had that feature and it was kinda looked down on. Now having a matching painted dash is a sign of well designed and upscale car.

How times change.

Good luck with that. You might get a Sonic LS hatch for $13K, but it's 6MPG short in the city. There's already a few Sparks on Autotrader for under $12K.

This car serves a purpose and it's priced right. Compare it to the fortwo, 500 and iQ.

I want a Spark... lowered on some wider wheels, with flared fenders and a Trifecta-tuned 1.4T + 6-speed swap. And the Cruze or Sonic RS disc brake package.

Well as you said, it was because the paint continued into the interior theme and they didn't have to do anything to leave it the same color and save $.
In a modern case, there's really no paint visible in the interior and they have to pay for all the bits.
So before if a model had 6 colors there'd be 6 variations on the interior coloring, but the Sonic only has 3 (or 2 if you get an upgraded paint style)
Easy way to distinguish your car is to change up the interior color and the Sparks get a handful.

Honestly, if there were more colors I might not even dig on the brick, but it's the only non black/gray color so I prefer it.

I can't get over how small they are. They're bigger than a smart car but still tiny as hell. Lol.

I wish I could get a price like that on a Sonic. Keeping in mind you can't get a turbo until you get into the LT trim, the cheapest around my part would be a base LT sedan and that's a little over 16k. And then to be comparable you would have to add the connectivity package.

You know what I think I liked most about the spark me and my wife test drove? The gauge cluster. While its off, it looks kind of like the Sonic's. Turn it on, and I just think its a significant improvement.

I wish my wife would drive a manual; so much cheaper! haha. And yes, she can drive a manual, she just hates it. So, unfortunately, her future spark is much more than 13,900. I just can't believe how expensive the 2LT is. I mean, she genuinely likes the car, so I don't mind spending it, but she could buy another Sonic just like mine for the money we are spending.

The Spark has been around a while. There were a couple spark owners in the Aveo forums. They were sold mostly in India and Africa, as I recall.
They are pretty snazzy cars for as small as they are.

It has a solid piece all along the bottom though. I am not sure it's really all that much better.

You know what I think I liked most about the spark me and my wife test drove? The gauge cluster. While its off, it looks kind of like the Sonic's. Turn it on, and I just think its a significant improvement.

While it looks slightly less upscale with materials there are a few things that I like more. I tend to like the standard speedometer look but even more of an improvement is where they located the cup holders. In the Sonic I think they are too far back and it's one of my biggest design beefs. I don't like the position of the steering wheel controls though.

I just can't believe how expensive the 2LT is. I mean, she genuinely likes the car, so I don't mind spending it, but she could buy another Sonic just like mine for the money we are spending.

I do agree that the 2LT really gets up there. But going by MSRP alone (no discounts) the only way you could get cheaper would be to do a LS2 sedan with absolutely no add ons. The hatch LS2 would be the same price. The second you tried to match the extras that the 2LT Spark has you would be into even more money. You would need to add the connectivity package which is not available in the LS trim. So the LT trim in the sedan with the connectivity package is $1000 over the top Spark. The hatch would be even higher than that of course.

Again...I do think the top of the line Spark carries a hefty price for what it is but I still don't think you could get in a "comparably" spec'd Sonic for the same price or less.
