Will be uploading pics this weekend
Ive owned it for 3 weeks and with 1200 miles am already busy in the process of a build. 20% tint, ZZP intake, Trifecta custom tune, Forge bov, ported intake, DDM shifter bushings, minor weight reduction and Redline transmission oil. My goal after more mods this summer is a 13 sec car that gets 30mpg!

Just bought my RS yesterday and Iove it so far. Dick Genthe Chevrolet in Southgate, MI had a few of them in stock, I decided on granite black metallic with the 6 speed manual, no sunroof though. I can't wait to buy a few bolt ons and would love the Trifecta tune, but need to read up on it further before I make a decision as I would hate to be the unlucky one whose warranty ends up voided, if that's at all possible from the tune. Hoping to have some pics up tomorrow of the car and the results from my first tank. Glad to be a part of the forum!

Picked up my Summit White RS on June 26. Looking forward to modding.
What mods are you planning? I'm probably going to keep mine fairly stock until I get closer to the warranty expiration. I did install the DDM shifter bushings this weekend and like the shifter better now. I wouldn't say it was a huge improvement, but noticeable enough for me to justify about $30 and 30 minutes to install. The aluminum bushings took away a bit of the mushiness that the rubber bushings provided.

That is one of my short term plans. I also plan on turbo back exhaust, intake, tune, springs and rims.

beater '91 honda wagon >250K mi just sprung a fuel leak to add to any number of issues. since MPG (no car payments/cheap insurance didn't hurt) was last reason still driving it, the camel's back snapped.
been putting away coins for a good while and was able to close a deal this weekend on a used 2013 RS, BGM, 6M, +sunroof. 3200ish miles -- why was this still on a lot? got a better deal on this than found elsewhere on year older, no RS & ALL that means...stymied. but stoked...
was going to be for the wife, but she's not interested in a manual...haha...anyway.
diggin' the RS in the <48hrs in my possession. don't want to be that guy lurking around, so while i'm not the modding type, happy to make acquaintances and see what i can learn about this sweet little ride. thanks for having me.

I was sitting around the house after getting my elbow operated on and I discovered the Sonic (had not been keeping up at all with cars and saw a video review of the LTZ, THEN I stumbled onto the video by TFLCar regarding the release of the RS. What really impressed me was when the GM Engineer was talking about how they designed the car to be a balanced package leaning towards a sport attitude and not an SS, total performance variant. I was looking to replace an old Volvo wagon I bought after my 2004 PT Cruiser Dream Cruiser 2.4T 5 speed was totaled. The Volvo was/is a good old tank, but only got about 17mpg on my short commute across town and was a lot bigger than I needed.
I was looking for a car that would get better mileage, be fun to drive but not beat me up driving across the speed bumps and rough Baltimore roads, cost less than 20k and have some utility. I play bass and have a 4x10 cabinet I sometimes add to the 2x10 combo amp I use, and I need space for 2 guitars, cable bag and pedal board as well.
I had been thinking about the Fit Sport or the Fiesta Titanium HB but liked the Sonic right off and loved the RS.
Test drove the Fiesta and hated it.
Test drove the Fit Sport and thought it as OK, had great utility and a good price, but the A/C was weak and you had to rev the piss out of it to get it to go anywhere. That is fun when I am in my Miata but a PITA when you are commuting.
Test drove the RS and LOVED it. Tons of torque down low, corners great, but very composed over rough roads. Great features and heated seats, (a must have for me.) and the best looking of the bunch. Yes the Honda holds more gear but I rarely use the big speaker cabinet (which will fit in the Sonic with some Ninja Tetris Skillz)
I am thinking of tinting the side windows, installing shifter bushing and adding a mild tune.
