I think a design contest would be great idea to get some different ideas out there for this and you can print them keep a stack in your car and hand out.

I'd just want to be sure we get the OK from the Owners to put the forum on Cards we make and distribute. Just like to see permission given here somewhere. Like I said before, for copyright reasons as well as common courtesy.

I just tossed that one together, so we had a start visually. Here's why I did it that way;
1. Vertical, so it would be more visible under a wiper blade.
2. With Club Logo, so site looks familiar if they visit.
3. Simple, so it looks more like an invite than a windshield Ad.
If it IS OK to use the club Name and Logo, I'd give my Word files to the site to host, or to whoever wants them. In case they don't have an easy way to design their own or don't want to learn the VistaPrint or Avery Software.
The Avery Software is free, and a nice add-on to Word 2007 or 2010. But I find it hard to place things well. I use it to make a blank template, then go into Word and do the first card in there. Once I got one, I copy and paste it to the other 7 cards on the same page. For some reason, doing it in the Avery Software doesn't align well, and is even harder to edit once it's a Word Doc.
The templates I made may be a good start for anyone to experiment with before a full run is made, and might be useful for SOG's to create a custom card too. Putting their own Group Name and logo at the bottom in place of the "Free Membership".

Maybe have custom cards with your Avatar on them so they can say hey... that person invited me here and i recognize that Avatar.

On previous sites they typically leave the back blank for putting name email phone number site name etc.

What do you guys think about printing a place to put a zip code or town name? It would be a good way to note where the car was spotted and kinda neat to collect/compare where the Sonic has been and been spotted...

That's an Idea. Or have the person putting the card on a car, take a picture of the car and post the info. Where, When, etc...
Then On the card something like;
You've been tagged for having a Nice Car;
Go to SonicOwnersForum.com to see it there.
See if people show up and claim it's theirs.
I wonder if some would get ticked off though, having a pic of there car taken and posted.....

If someone could come up with a design, we all could have them printed on cardstock and cut into little cards at Kinkos. I wouldn't need any more than 25 to start as I doubt I'd ever tag more than that.
Even the part of the forum logo in the upper left corner would look nice printed on a card.

Been a while, and not sure if this died, or was continued in another thread, and this thread just didn't get pointed there. Anyways.....
If anyone is interested, I did this vertical version of a card in Word, for Avery Business Cards. Stock # 8371 or 08371
Here's what it looks like;
I figure it's simple, and you can write your own note on the back. I asked and was given the OK to post a link to the Word File. So, if you want the Word file that I made for the Avery Stock 8371 or 08371, here it is. This way you can edit it as you like. Just keep it clean and in accordance with SOF's policies and values.

Yeah, attrapereves started the gears turning on all of this.
I am noticing more and more Sonic's in my area, but all seem very plain. I'm looking for one that really stands out.
Wonder how many it will attract to this forum if notes are left on others cars. It'll be interesting to follow.

I wonder if others have. I don't have any download counter on my page to know if anyone even got the template.
If anyone wants some variation of that template, or if you have another type Avery Business card in mind, let me know. Just give me the Avery Number and I will make another template, and you can edit it the way you want it. Just keep it as clean and classy as SOF is. Umm. Errrrr. You know what I mean....
