11/16 unaccompanied test drove with ZERO miles on it bought it same day same moment left the lot in ownership with 8 miles then today 3-4 weeks later my odometer reads 1525 miles i drive so much like 100-200 miles a day its ridiculous but hey if you love it you just gotta drive it.

mine was a dealer demo , had 6000 on it , I put 1000 miles almost in a week in a half (half of it was going out of town as an excuse to drive lol)

I forget the date, but it was early this month. It was an out of towner so I had 205 miles on it. Gonna hit 1000 here in the next day or so.

January 16, 2012 - drove off lot with 11 miles on odometer

February 25, 2012 - just over 7,500 miles

...Totally normal for me. The Sonic replaced a '04 Pontiac Vibe bought new in Sept. '04. The Vibe was totaled in December 2011. Final mileage was 518,498.

All things considered, I'd have to say no. OEM wear and tear parts lasted way beyond expectation. The OEM alternator lasted 405k. The OEM starter fell just short of 460k. The engine and trans were all original. In the end it was consuming about one quart of oil between oil changes (5k intervals) and it needed an a/c compressor. The car was still pretty solid though, mechanically speaking.

The Sonic is up to 8,800. Should roll 10k before the end of next week.
